How much time do you usually spend in heavy traffic? It might seem insignificant, but in a year that half an hour a day, could actually transform to a week of wasted time. Good thing is, though, that modern personal transport doesn’t linger in the past and gives you an opportunity to abandon the car and zoom past the stalled traffic on an electric bicycle. Today we will reveal a lineup of all new ebike models that continue to improve the comfort of daily commute, offer additional security and smart features, ride faster and at times have more affordable pricing. How to Use Genetic Bio Technologies to Improve Cattle Herd Production - TvAgro, Juan Gonzalo Angel

22:24
Twitter @juangangel Programa: How to Use Genetic Bio Technologies to Improve Cat Techniques of modern biology such as molecular cloning of genes, gene transfer, genetic manipulation of animal and plant embryo transfer, genetic manipulation of rumen microbes, chemical and biological treatment of low quality animal feeds for improved nutritive value, genetically engineered immunodiagnostic and immunoprophylactic agents as well as veterinary vaccines, inter alia, are a reality today and are finding their ways into research and development programmes of developing countries. Biotechnology is offering unprecedented opportunities for increasing agricultural productivity and for protecting the environment through reduced use of agro-chemicals. The major thrust in biotechnology research is currently directed at solving immediate problems of industrialised countries, with major investments coming from transnational companies. However, many of the new discoveries and products will find their biggest markets in developing countries where the potential for improvement in agricultural productivity and health is greatest. The importance of biotechnology and its relevance is only slowly being accepted by policy makers in developing countries. In the presence of economic crisis, strong fiscal constraints, rapid social change and constant political instabilities, the difficulties associated with major policy changes in developing countries are enormous. This paper reviews available biotechnologies with potential application in livestock improvement and identifies those which have been or may be applied in developing countries in general, and Africa in particular. The review covers biotechnology applications in the areas of animal genetics and breeding, including conservation of animal genetic resources, animal health, physiology of lactation and growth, and animal nutrition. Introduction Developing countries are faced with the challenge to rapidly increase agricultural productivity to help feed their growing populations without depleting the natural resource base. Biotechnology is regarded as a means to meet both objectives through addressing the production constraints of small-scale or resource-poor farmers who contribute more than 70% of the food produced in developing countries. Biotechnology can be defined as any technique that uses living organisms or substances from such organisms to make or modify a product, to improve plants or animals or to develop micro-organisms for specific purposes. Biotechnology is not new. Man has used it for thousands of years to manufacture products such as beer, wine and bread. Conventional plant and animal breeding which involves selection and mating of phenotypically preferred individuals is a good example of age-old application of biotechnology. What is new about biotechnology comes from more recent breakthroughs such as recombinant DNA technology and associated techniques, monoclonal antibody techniques, embryo manipulation technology etc. These have enhanced possibilities for manipulating biological systems for the benefit of mankind. Among agricultural and allied fields, animal production and health have probably benefitted the most from biotechnology. But successful application of biotechnology has generally been limited to developed countries. Specifically, there are hardly any success stories of the application of biotechnology in the improvement of livestock production in Africa. The purpose of this paper is to review available biotechnologies with potential application in livestock improvement and to identify those which have been or may be applied in developing countries in general, and Africa in particular. In addition, the paper gives a "broad brush" examination of possible reasons for failure of those technologies which have been tried. The paper also presents examples of successful application of biotechnology in Africa and the potential role of biotechnology (both "old" and "new") in future livestock development in Africa. The paper starts by presenting an overview of biotechnologies with current and/or potential applications in the areas of reproductive physiology, genetics and animal breeding, animal health, physiology of lactation and growth and animal nutrition. Given the breadth of the topic, not much depth is given to the review of each area. Rather, an attempt is made to highlight the technologies considered to have current or potential application. The paper concludes with a fleeting coverage of issues concerning the potential environmental hazards of genetic engineering and other biotechnologies, and the need for their ethical evaluation and for an international regulatory mechanism. Top 10 most Amazing Technologies

03:40
1)google smart glass :- Welcome to Smart-Glasses.org! We are proud to provide information and resources about smart glasses and smart technology. We hope you find the information provided here useful as we continue to explore new emerging technology. Once the realm of science fiction movies, computer technology has moved to glasses, and multiple companies are making plans for this emerging mobile peripheral wireless market. The first smart glasses are projected to be available in the summer to fall of 2012 with other companies potentially releasing their versions by the end of 2012. Smart glasses will incorporate a bright high-definition display, adjustable for outdoor use on the glass lens so that the images appear as if they were in the exterior world. They will also have Internet connectivity and multiple new applications. Some of the displayed images will have a holographic quality to them, depending upon the smart glass manufacturer, making the image appear as if it were real and in front of the smart glasses 2)leap motion:- The Leap Motion controller is a small USB peripheral device which is designed to be placed on a physical desktop, facing upward. Using two monochromatic IR cameras and three infrared LEDs, the device observes a roughly hemispherical area, to a distance of about 1 meter (3 feet). The LEDs generate a 3D pattern of dots of IR light[14] and the cameras generate almost 300 frames per second of reflected data, which is then sent through a USB cable to the host computer, where it is analyzed by the Leap Motion controller software using "complex math" in a way that has not been disclosed by the company, in some way synthesizing 3D position data by comparing the 2D frames generated by the two cameras.[15][16] The smaller observation area and higher resolution of the device differentiates the product from the Kinect, which is more suitable for whole-body tracking in a space the size of a living room.[17] In a demonstration to CNET, The Leap was shown to perform tasks such as navigating a website, using pinch-to-zoom gestures on maps, high-precision drawing, and manipulating complex 3D data visualizations.[17] Leap Motion CEO Michael Buckwald told CNET: Leap Motion initially distributed thousands of units to developers who are interested in creating applications for the device. The Leap Motion controller was first shipped in July, 2013 3)3D printing :- 3D printing or Additive manufacturing[1] is a process of making a three-dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model. 3D printing is achieved using an additive process, where successive layers of material are laid down in different shapes.[2] 3D printing is also considered distinct from traditional machining techniques, which mostly rely on the removal of material by methods such as cutting or drilling (subtractive processes). A 3D printer is a limited type of industrial robot that is capable of carrying out an additive process under computer control. While 3D printing technology has been around since the 1980s, it was not until the early 2010s that the printers became widely available commercially.[3] The first working 3D printer was created in 1984 by Chuck Hull of 3D Systems Corp.[4] Since the start of the 21st century there has been a large growth in the sales of these machines, and their price has dropped substantially.[5] According to Wohlers Associates, a consultancy, the market for 3D printers and services was worth $2.2 billion worldwide in 2012, up 29% from 2011.[6] The 3D printing technology is used for both prototyping and distributed manufacturing with applications in architecture, construction (AEC), industrial design, automotive, aerospace, military, 4)transparent phone :- processor - which is said to be faster than the current Apple A4 processor. One more rumor about the iPhone 5 is that it will come in two variants - one with a QWERTY keyboard. But one source says that the iPad 3 will have the A6 processor - is the macroscalar processor the same? Which begs the question: "Will the iPhone 5 have the same CPU - or an A5?" A patent search does reveal that Apple is the owner of five patents of the macroscalar processor architecture. The latest is 8,065,502 and is dated November 22, 2011. Apple may even hold the copyright on the term as it appears to be new to our language. The new CPU concept seems to be a "looped parallel program 6)flying car new technology :- Flying car technology is turning a dream into reality

Connectivity drives DENSO! What drives you?

01:54
Join us at DENSO ►► https://www.denso.jobs/ Through connectivity and advanced control, we are making mobility that is safer, smoother and more environment-friendly possible. // Who we are You probably rely on DENSO’s products every day of your life without even realising it. In Europe we have more than 16,000 Associates working together to design, produce, and supply the highest quality automotive components and systems for all of the major global car manufacturers and the aftermarket. Our products aim to make cars feel more comfortable and responsive, to interact with the outside world and to reduce the car’s fuel consumption. To do that, our wide product range includes climate control, powertrain control, infotainment, telematics and safety systems as well as electrical and electronic components. We are constantly looking at ways to make a car more efficient and economical, comfortable to drive, safe, convenient and connected to the outside world. For example, diesel systems for cars and trucks have existed for many years, but we worked to improve them by developing higher pressure systems, leading to greatly improved fuel efficiency. Our system was the first in the world to reach 1800 Bar consistently. But we’re not satisfied with that! We’re now looking at the injector technology to gain even more efficiency. As another example, we improved the compressor for the air conditioner in the car, by developing the world’s first electric version. This ensures that while the car engine is off, such as happens in hybrid and stop-start technologies, the car’s air conditioning system can continue to operate thus keeping the internal environment comfortable while also reducing fuel consumption and emissions. We’re developing new ways for people to communicate with their car through voice activated infotainment control. We’re helping the car to interact with its environment by developing active safety systems to prevent accidents from occurring and we’re minimising the impact on the environment through hybrid technology. All these developments support our company mission which is to ‘contribute to a better world by creating value together with a vision for the future’. // Not just automotive parts DENSO’s expertise doesn’t stop with automotive parts. We pride ourselves on making things better, so we’re rightly proud of our world-class manufacturing facilities. We have also developed small assembly robots and over 60,000 robots are in operation! Another DENSO innovation is the two dimensional Quick Response (QR) Code, that we originally developed to manage our automotive component inventories. We developed a QR code reader for the iPhone, helping to diffuse this technology throughout society. // DENSO in Europe The principles of problem solving, kaizen (continuous improvement), teamwork, and a focus on excellence are great tools for our Associates. They were part of our Japanese origin and are applied throughout our global organisation. Here in Europe, we aim to combine the best of our different cultures and harness our talent, irrespective of nationality. We strive to provide equality of opportunity for all. #DENSOmoves

Avoid the Chaos of Component Obsolescence

01:31
Engineers who design in components to systems with long approval cycles and even longer product use life, such as automobiles, aircraft, and medical devices, find themselves lacking the parts needed to build their products. As attention is diverted to the “new and improved” products, legacy technology is relegated to the back burner. Because it is less profitable, it becomes obsolete. Even less-sophisticated products become victims to this chaos. Shortages, Part Change and End Of Life Notifications all impact the bottom line. SiliconExpert offers a SaaS solution that provides the readily available, sophisticated, relevant, and up-to-the-minute data that buyers need in order to remove risk from their supply chain.

FYI I also didn’t know reebok Zigtech was so coveted by yall in middle school! In this video I will discuss 5 more failed sneaker technologies. #5 British Knights Dymacel Year - 1991 British Knights introduced Dymacel, their first technology shoe in 1991. The technology consisted of diamond-shaped green silicon cushioning embedded within a sole window. This was to effectively absorb shock by dispersing vertical impact energy into a horizontal plane while maximizing energy return. Dymacel maintains its memory after repeated compression. Fun fact – MC Hammer signed an endorsement deal with BK in 1990, also these were know as BKs = Blood Killers by crips, not a good look by the brand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Knights #4 Adidas MegaBounce 2008 Leather New, improved MegaBounce heel cushions even better, turning every impact into forward momentum Molded EVA insole for anatomical comfort adiPRENE+ insert for forefoot propulsion and efficiency Bounce technology provides optimized energy return and step-in comfort http://www.complex.com/sneakers/2012/02/the-25-greatest-sneaker-innovations-of-all-time/13 #3 Converse — Helium Technology Sneaker Shown: Converse All Star He:01 Year: 1999 Why would Nike ever use Air? It's so heavy, right? Well, that's the idea Converse attempted to build on when it introduced its Helium cushioning, which not only boasted superior comfort but also a lighter overall shoe due to the inert gas' lower atomic weight. Though Helium may be the second lightest periodic element, sales and the He:01 proved that Nike Air plays second fiddle to no one. Converse was purchased by Nike in 2003 #2 – LA Gear Catapult Released in 1991 The LA Gear equivalent of Air Jordans, a high-end basketball shoe and training shoe line. The original spokesman for the line was Karl Malone. This featured a supportive high cut and a Power feedback system, similar to Nike Air. How Has SUPER HUMAN Vision Been Improved?

07:06
Human vision has been altered genetically and technologically, here are some ways that it has been improved and how it can be improved upon! Technological One of the first vision assist systems available is the back-up camera, which is what it sounds like, a camera on the back of the car, with a little screen in front. Then they added little sensors to the camera, so that the care beeps if you get near anything. Well companies like Subaru are beginning to install vision assist on their vehicles which are super smart cameras that keep an eye on the road, specifically distance of cars in front and to the side of you. Cars are one of the many places that vision assistance is making an impact in the world. Medical There are many different types of medical procedures to improve a person’s vision. The most well know is Lasik . There are many variations of this type of surgery, mainly involving different methods for making an incision in the eye. But what about blindness? There are many different procedures being created for blindness but one in particular is standing out. Age-related macular degeneration is one of the most common causes of blindness around the world, and there are treatments for it already, but they tend to be invasive and require constant upkeep. Now there is a treatment that requires only one injection. Though minutely invasive the procedure is effective and reliable; and how it works is quite cool. The injection contains a modified virus, that penetrates cells in the eye and deposits a therapeutic gene. Now, normally the patient would have to go back for follow up procedures, but this injection produces a constant supply of the anti-VEGF protein. Tech and Medical Tech Okay, So we know what 20/20 vision is, but what about 20/15 or 20/10, is it true people can see from 20 feet, with the same quality of if a normal person were 15 feet or even 10 feet? Well yes, some of us are born lucky, but what about technology that gives a person the ability to actually zoom? yes that's right, like a camera. Scientist Doctor Garth Webb of Canada has designed such a device. He has designed a bionic lense that will allow the user to see objects from 3 times the distance their eyes were meant to see?! But what makes this particular piece of technology interesting is that it is surgically inserted, get this, in roughly 8 minutes. The bionic lens is actually folded like a taco and placed in the eye using a syringe filled with a saline solution. Then, in about 10 seconds, the bionic lens unravels over your eye by itself and your sight is “immediately corrected.” The lense is made by Webb’s company called Ocumetics technology corporation and what he has created is absolutely astounding! This lense may be the future of eye care. The implant is said to be the future of curing some types of blindness. The human eye isn’t fully developed until then. Color may be another problem entirely. We are on our way to improving actually vision but color blindness may still be a ways off. There is no treatment for inherited color blindness. Color filters or contact lenses can be used in some situations to enhance the brightness between some colours and these are occasionally used, but many color blind people find these actually confuse them further rather than help. There is a cure using genetic technology, which involves injections to the eye, but it has had no human trials, but it has proven effective on monkeys. Genetic There is a type of vision known as tetrachromacy in which a retina contains four types of higher-intensity light receptors or cone cells, well humans are normally trichromats, which gives us the ability to perceive around 10 million different colors. But a person with tetrachromacy can perceive the world with up to 100 million different colors. I mean imagine the beauty they see in the world. In one interview with a tetrachromat, they were quoted saying that they see even something as plain as snow with vibrant colors and that they get lost staring at the many colors they see on a regular basis. Oh yeah, and only women are capable of have tetrachromatic vision, and only about 10% of all women are actually born with the mutation. This mutation is what helps scentists study potential gene factors for improving color perception. Homeopathic Firstly, eye strain. Staring at computer and television screens can damage a person’s eyes. Most professionals only recommend a few hours a day in front of a screen, but we know this isn’t always possible, so it’s recommended to take a 10 minute break from screens every 50 minutes. Secondly, overall rest, getting the doctor perscribed 7-9 hours of sleep a night will give your eyes the rest they need. Lastly, diet, what you eat can have a huge effect on eye health. Specifically vitamin A, a deficiency in vitamin a can cause serious eye damage. Sources of vitamin a include High sweet potatoes, carrots, and dark leafy greens, many meats have sources of vitamin A.

Bullfrog CEO: Improved Technologies Presenting New Opportunities In Nevada

09:39
In the interview below, Bullfrog Gold (OTC:BFGC) CEO Dave Beling explains why Nevada remains one of North America’s hottest destinations for gold mining and exploration. After working in the mining business for over 50 years, Beling brings a veteran leadership and depth of experience to the Bullfrog team. Following active mining in the late 80’s and 90’s, the price of gold caused mines in Nevada to close, however the resurgence of global gold prices has provided Beling and his company with a new opportunity. The Improved Cookstove for Liberia: the Red Fire Pot

07:09
Cooking in Liberia is usually done with firewood or charcoal, and there virtually are not any other inexpensive options. The traditionally used stoves are also inefficient and use more biomass than is needed, create smoke and health risks, and are bad for the environment. GIZ/EnDev works in part to eliminate and mitigate these problems by facilitating access to improved cookstoves through promoting cost-effective, locally made, and more environmentally friendly stoves called “Red Fire Pots.” EnDev first developed, tested and introduced the Red Fire Pot to Liberia in 2012. The program also organized training workshops to teach local metal sheet workers how to make the stove. Today, many producers in Liberia sell various sizes of the Red Fire Pot. They say customers who have bought the pots praise them for saving money and time. The Red Fire Pots are also safer, healthier and more efficient to use. These cookstoves use a new technology that burns unused gases from charcoal with a secondary air supply. That air supply then lowers the release of toxic gases that are harmful for cooking and the environment. Here, Red Fire Pot producers and customers demonstrate the benefits of using the Red Fire Pot and share their experiences of working with GIZ/EnDev to make the product available to the Liberian public. Video produced by Monique John. For more, visit www.renewables-liberia.info. Facebook: Renewables Liberia Twitter: @RenewLiberia The Energizing Development Program (EnDev) is an Energy Access Partnership commissioned by the German International Development Cooperation (GIZ) and financed by seven donor countries. EnDev operates in 26 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America with the main objective to improve the access to sustainable, affordable energy for everybody. EnDev Liberia started its work in 2012 and collaborates with RREA and other partners on building structures for renewable energy markets in Liberia. This includes supporting solar installations for social institutions (schools, health facilities), promoting improved cooking technologies as well as strengthening the markets for pico PV products and cocoa solar dryers. EnDev hosts trainings and feasibility studies, assists with solar installations and collaborates in marketing and sales efforts for energy products. How artificial intelligence will change your world in 2019, for better or worse

04:21
From a science fiction dream to a critical part of our everyday lives, artificial intelligence is everywhere. You probably don't see AI at work, and that's by design. AI is changing everything. But do we want it to? [dt-video-embed id="2261033" ] In the last decade, artificial intelligence has gone from a science fiction dream to a critical part of our everyday lives. We use AI systems to interact with our phones through Siri and Alexa, cars like Teslas interpret and analyze their surroundings to intelligently drive themselves, Amazon monitors our browsing habits and intelligently serves us up products it thinks we’d like to buy, and even Google decides what kinds of search results to give us based on who it thinks we are. Artificially intelligent algorithms are here, they’ve already changed our lives for better or worse. But this is only the beginning, and one day we’ll look back at AI in 2018 and laugh about how primitive it was. Because in the future, AI is going to change… everything. But do we want it to? Well, what exactly is AI? Maybe a better question might be: what exactly is “intelligence”? The simplest descriptor is collecting data about the world, and using that data to make predictions in the short and long term. That applies to both people and machines. So when we talk about AI in our lives, we’re talking about everything from a computer being able to read a handwritten document, like an OCR reader, to a robot performing complex surgery on its own, to a massive database categorizing your personality based on what you’ve written and looked at online. Because the world of AI is so incredibly large, let’s take a look at some of the most groundbreaking developments we expect to see in the very near future, and whether that’s a step forward or backward for society. First and foremost, AI systems are already primed to take over thousands, if not millions of jobs. Any job that consists of a human taking down information from other humans, and inputting it into a system is likely to go obsolete. So cashiers, receptionists, telemarketers and bank tellers are all on their way out. As self-driving cars, self-operating drones, and other conveyors from A-to-B get more complex, we’ll also lose jobs like truck drivers, postal workers, courier services, and even pizza delivery. Factories are also becoming fully automated, so are car washes, and movie theaters. Even my job, as a journalist, is threatened by rapidly improving news algorithms that can gather information and deliver it faster, and more accurately. As we develop better AI, we’re discovering that it can not just replace human labor, but also think in ways that humans can’t. Algorithms that can monitor and process massive amounts of data, and make conclusions based on patterns in that data are poised to change every avenue of society. Starting from something small, like optimizing traffic patterns over time to figure out the best routes to take, or how to fix roads and rebuild highways. To something much more serious, like monitoring epidemics and disease, and stopping them before they spread. Machine learning has even shown to analyze human behavior, and predict warning signs by recognizing common language used by people like sexual predators or terrorists, and alerting law enforcement to take action. Then again, that same technology can be used to track down political dissidents, or serve fake news to vulnerable people while blocking out competing opinions and information. The more we study and develop artificial intelligence, the clearer it becomes that this massively powerful tool comes with a great deal of responsibility. As futurists try to plan out a rapidly changing and advancing world, the biggest hurdle isn’t technological, but economic and political. Just a few tech monopolies control the latest breakthroughs in data collecting, processing, and analyzing - and while we may hope that AI will help advance our society, it may just end up working to benefit the tech industry and only those who can afford to take advantage of cheaper, smarter human replacements - maybe.. to the detriment of society. For now, we just don’t know what the future holds.. Shop best sneaker deals of the week here! http://bit.ly/2kuwqFv Nikestore New Items: http://bit.ly/2jQW08i Nike Sale Deals Here! http://bit.ly/2yipKxb Best Shoe Cushion? Adidas Boost vs Bounce vs CloudFoam Comparison! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaeGKBNPk7E WHAT I-S MAX AIR TECHNOLOGY? Shoes with Max Air technology feature less midsole material and larger-volume airbags for lighter weight and maximum cushioning you can see. First Shoe w Nike Air? 1979 Air Tailwind - First visible unit was Air Max 1, First Basketball shoe was the Air Force 1. Pros - can absorb impact, nostalga, walking on air never gets old. Cons - not the most comfortable cushioning or shock absorbing product on the market. WHAT IS NIKE ZOOM? Tensile Air it was called. Nike Zoom cushioning is part of the Nike Air family. Like its siblings, Nike Zoom is lightweight and durable. After impact, the tightly stretched fibers inside the pressurized air unit quickly bounce back into shape, providing a super responsive feel and improved awareness of the surface you’re playing on. First Shoe with Nike Zoom? Nike Air Go LWP shoe in 1995 Pros - made for quick cuts, for high impact you do get responiveness (vid of 2 humans w yoga balls running at each other lol). Thin, and light Cons - you can blow out the Zoom Unit, literally (image of blown zoom) ZOOM AIR What is Nike FREE https://help-en-us.nike.com/app/answer/article/product-technology-nikefree/a_id/34741/country/us http://www.complex.com/sneakers/2013/03/the-complete-performance-history-of-the-nike-free The idea behind Nike Free is simple: Improve your athletic performance by allowing your body to perform naturally. Nike Free shoes offer the proven benefits of barefoot training. Allowed freedom, your toes will flex and grip, exercising muscles in a natural chain neglected in traditional footwear. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN NIKE FREE 3.0, 4.0 AND 5.0 In the Nike Free continuum, the lower the number in a shoe’s name, the closer it is to barefoot running. On the continuum, 10.0 represents conventional footwear while zero represents the bare foot First shoe with Nike Free? Nike Free 5.0 v1 in 2004 Pros - very flexible as expected. firmer cushioning for those that like bare feet feel. Light. Cons - usually means upper is very snug to maximize flex of sole, might be too tight for some. runners should break in the shoe before running long distance to avoind shin splints What is Nike Lunarlon it was the fusion of lightweight Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) with the bouncy ball-like spring of Nitrile Rubber (NBR) Lunarlon cushioning features a soft, yet resilient, foam core that is encased within a supportive foam carrier for lightweight, ultra-plush cushioning, springy response and support. The innovative Lunarlon foam, invented by Nike, is 30 percent lighter than traditional Phylon and allows the force of impact to be more evenly distributed, which helps reduce painful pressure points on feet. https://help-en-us.nike.com/app/answer/a_id/56788 https://news.nike.com/news/inside-access-the-story-of-nike-lunarlon First sneaker with Nike Lunarlon? 2008 Lunar Racer Pros - tried and true. was innovative for its time. Comfy, Lunar Chukka flyknit was my Boost before there was Boost! Cons - dated technology however still functional people say it bottoms out. What is Nike React https://news.nike.com/news/nike-react-foam-cushioning Nike React foam was developed in-house and the unique composition gives runners foam that is lighter, softer, more responsive and even more durable than Nike Lunar foam. Historically, these four elements have been solved for individually and it was difficult to deliver them in one package. However, Nike React technology delivers them in one. With no carrier foam, glue etc, you stand directly on the foam, its exaggerated in size for a reason, to absorb more. First shoe with Nike React? Hyperdunk 2017 & Jordan Superfly 2017 (both encased react) Epic React Flyknit 1st raw form shoe in 2018. Pros? Lots of Cushion. Very soft, responsive. very light Cons? Durability might be an issue or looks of visible wear. Nike ZOOM X https://news.nike.com/news/nike-zoom-vaporfly-elite Nike ZoomX cushioning—a newly designed, ultra-light foam—delivers our greatest energy return yet. Inside the foam, a carbon fiber plate springs up under your heel as you stride forward, giving you a propulsive feel. The Nike VaporFly 4% has been stripped down to its most essential parts, so it’s light and fast as hell—and perfect for road races up to and including the marathon. Durable rubber on heel protects against abrasions Weight: 6.5 ounces (men's size 10/women's size 11.5) Offset: 10mm First Nike ZoomX Shoe? Nike Zm VaporFly 4% in 2017 Pros - Comfy, like best ever. My new channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/Biographics We live in an age in which bad news and negativity reigns, making it easy to overlook the positive things that have taken place in our world over the last half century. Further, one doesn’t need to view the world through rose-colored glasses to see the many things that have transpired over the last few decades all designed to make all our lives easier, safer, and overall less challenging than they were for our forbearers. All one needs to do is compare the present to the fairly recent past to recognize that while there are still things to be depressed about, there are a number of things that have improved dramatically. So what are these “positives” of which I speak? Below are my top ten “things” that have dramatically improved since 1964—and many of which show signs of getting even better in the future—so eat your hearts out, all you purveyors of doom and gloom out there. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 Help us translate our videos: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_queue?msg=10&tab=0 - Learn more why you might want to help: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6052538 Find more lists at: http://www.toptenz.net Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! SUBSCRIBE!: http://bit.ly/1G97GmA SHARE THIS VIDEO: https://youtu.be/1mcYIzg1GT8 Space may be the final frontier, but chances are, you’ve got some space age technology in your home right now. Maybe even in your pocket. Heck, maybe it IS your pocket. The space program in many ways is “the people’s science lab”, and so here’s the rundown on some NASA goodies that have trickled down to us regular peeps over the years: 1. Better tires for your car 2. Pavement grooves 3. The smoke detector 4. Fireproof paint 5. Invisible Braces 6. Infrared thermometers 7. Memory foam 8. Artificial Limbs 9. Solar Panels 10. Enriched Baby Formula 11. Video Enhancing and Analysis Systems 12. The Dustbuster 13. Ventricular Assist Device 14. Land Mine Removal 15. Improved Mine Safety 16. Chemical Detection 17. Freeze Dried Food - In planning for the long-duration Apollo missions, NASA conducted extensive research into space food. Freeze drying is when foods are cooked, flash frozen, and then slowly heated in a vacuum chamber to remove the ice crystals formed by the freezing process. The final product retains 98 percent of its nutrition and weighs only 20 percent of its original weight. That means some pretty tasty food options for backpacking and for situations where all you have is boiling water. Astronaut ice cream anyone? 18. Food safety 19. Performance shoe insoles 20. Pollution Remediation - Petroleum Remediation Product or “PRP,” has revolutionized the way oil spills are cleaned. NASA tech, duh. 21. Water purification 22. LED lighting - High-intensity LED (Light-emitting Diodes) units were developed for the NASA space shuttles. They’re ultrabright and use tiny amounts of power. And now they’re in everything from lightbulbs to cellphones. 23. Eye Screening 24. Scratch resistant coatings 25. The Internet of Things 26. Mylar - You encounter mylar all the time. Big silvery balloons, toaster pastries, blankets for marathon runners. Mylar is a special polyester film that has been metalized, making it ultra thin, ultra strong, and because it reflects radiation and heat, it’s just perfect for space travel. Mylar was designed for NASA’s Project Echo, a balloon satellite experiment that preceded the Mercury program. 27. How Tomato Ketchup Is Made | How To

It would also contain water, sugar, vinegar, salt, and seasoning. ... Tomato ketchup is a condiment manufactured with similar ingredients, although paste is used rather than whole tomatoes. Application Reports Manufacture of Tomato Sauces and Ketchups Tomato sauces are used in many products including frozen foods, pasta sauces and pizza toppings, etc. A typical tomato sauce would be based on sieved or whole tomatoes, and/or tomato paste. It would also contain water, sugar, vinegar, salt and seasoning. The desired product viscosity would normally be achieved using a starch-based thickener. Tomato ketchup is a condiment manufactured from similar ingredients, although paste is used rather than whole tomatoes. Premium quality ketchups with a high solids content derive their viscosity from a combination of water retention of the fibrous strands in the paste and the gelling effect of pectin found naturally in tomatoes. High-pressure homogenization is also used to obtain the desired viscosity. This is common with lower solids content ketchup, which may also contain starch-based thickeners. The Process:- The recipe, viscosity and solids content of sauces and ketchup vary widely according to the end user. Typical process requirements are as follows: -Mixing apparatus must be capable of dispersing powdered ingredients into the water to form an agglomerate-free product. -If the product is made from whole peeled tomatoes, these require chopping and pulping before addition to the mix. -Insoluble particles in the tomatoes need to be fully dispersed and “milled” to obtain a smooth texture and even dispersion of the pigment (carotin) to give depth of color. -Fibrous strands in the tomatoes must be fibrillated (frayed) to raise capacity for water retention, which increases viscosity. -Once mixed, the product may be passed through a high-pressure homogenizer or colloid mill to obtain the required consistency. The Advantages:- -Dramatically reduced processing times -Rapid dispersion of thickeners and stabilizers -Improved yield of ingredients -Smoother texture and improved product consistency -Improved color -The product fed to the homogenizer is uniform and of low particle size, allowing faster processing through the homogenizer and fewer passes required -Some sauces with low solids content may not require homogenization -Special "low shear" head available for processing whole tomatoes to eliminate risk of milling pips -A Silverson mixer can be used as a "polishing step" after homogenization to improve texture, viscosity, and sheen to ketchup

Community sanitation can be cheaply improved with money-making technology

07:35
Basic household sanitation has long been outside the reach of cost-effective comprehensive solutions, especially in communities dependent on septic rather than sewage systems. But this is changing. Groups as varied as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and a coalition of private-sector water technology interests are attacking the problems of fecal sludge management, or FSM, particularly in under served communities. Thanks to innovative products and platforms and the collaboration of the Asian Development Bank Institute, the technology that moves water to bathrooms, taps, and kitchens worldwide is within reach of communities that don’t have complex and costly sewage systems. David Robbins, a specialist in on-site and decentralized wastewater management, found that FSM’s efficiency and effectiveness—the hallmarks of modern sewerage systems—can now be used to attract the private sector into a fledgling sanitation economy that can overcome the many political roadblocks faced by communities without sewers. Watch the full presentation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87p35v-I2pA About the speaker David Robbins is a specialist in on-site and decentralized wastewater management, with an emphasis on fecal sludge management.
Top 10 RIDICULOUS Things We’re Trying to Accomplish With TECHNOLOGY

Today we live in an increasingly digital and technological society. While it’s certainly good to continue to build on our knowledge, create things that continue to improve our world, and make our lives easier in the process, not all technology is necessarily good. Many people jump to the latest technology or companies will spend billions on a new idea, just because it sounds cool, because they can, without wondering for a moment if they actually should.
