My Best Friend Is Homeless
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Charlie, and he wants to tell you about his best friend. You might think that this is going to be an ordinary school story about best buddies, but you’d be wrong. The thing is that Charlie made friends with a homeless man, and they managed to help each other a lot. Listen to his unbelievable story. The day was as horrible as any other school day when Charlie had a physics class. He hated physics for two reasons. The first one was that he didn’t understand it at all. It was the only subject that made him feel totally clueless. The second reason is connected to the first one. Charlie’s dad is a physicist and he thinks that a son who doesn’t have straight A’s in physics is a reason to feel ashamed as a parent, as a scientist and generally as a human being. Charlie had tried everything to explain to him that it was just not his thing. He even tried taking private physics classes. Nothing helped. That day was the last straw. Charlie brought home a D in physics again, and was gearing himself up for another boring discussion about “priorities” with his dad. But things went awfully wrong. That time his dad literally became hysterical, yelling “I don’t need a son as stupid as you! I don’t have a son anymore!” Well, THAT was what you call an overreaction. And needless to say, Charlie was really VERY offended. So he packed up things for a couple of nights and stormed out of his home. It seemed a nice idea to him at the time – he simply wanted to spend a couple of nights on the street. The nights were warm, and his parents would quickly find him if he went to any of his friends. He was sure that by the time he returned, his dad would have calmed down. He left his phone at home, of course. Charlie’s plan didn’t go as well as he imagined it would. It was already evening and he was walking around the streets looking for a place to sleep. It wasn’t easy. In the end, he opted for the old classic of sleeping under the bridge. When he saw that there was already a group of ominous-looking homeless people there, he realized that his enthusiasm for the idea had already disappeared. He was starting to seriously consider going back home, when an elderly man came up to him and asked: “Welcome, son. Are you looking for some place to sleep?” He had a friendly smile, and seemed quite ok – he had a clean face, and old but neat clothes. Charlie decided to stay for a while and joined him near the fire. He was evidently curious, and asked him how he had come to spend the night all alone away from his parents. Charlie felt that his story was utterly stupid, but he just spat it out all in one go. The old man was pretty amused. “So, you have problems with physics, eh? What’s the topic you got a D for?” “Newton’s second law”. “But why? It turned out that his new friend’s name was Bob. He was a retired physics teacher and had moved there from another state. He used up all his savings to buy a house, but it was a fraudulent deal, and he had nowhere to live and no family to turn to. He also wanted to get a job, but couldn’t because he was homeless. After all this, he joined up with a group of other homeless people and stayed positive. His story was so inspiring! To be honest, Charlie felt like an idiot. “Look”, he said, “I need to go home. I’ve made a mistake and now it’s late already.” Bob said it was a wise decision and that he would accompany him. As they were walking home, Charlie was thinking of asking Bob to give him some physics lessons – this would be a job for him, and a relief for Charlie. But he forgot it all at once when he opened the door and saw his mom crying and his dad standing embarrassed in the background. The hugs finished, and Charlie noticed that Bob was silently walking away. “Wait, wait!” he called out. He invited him in, explained to his parents who Bob was, and made him a cup of coffee – it was the least he could do. His dad seemed genuinely interested and started a conversation about physics. As for his mom, she was just thankful that he got back home safe and sound. So this is how that day finished. And this is how he met his best friend Bob. So, that’s it? you ask. You said you helped each other, and now it seems that it’s only he who has helped you! But there’s a good conclusion to the story. Charlie’s dad liked Bob a lot, and he proposed a solution – at his office they needed a lab technician, so he offered the position to Bob. That way he could rent an apartment. At the same time, Charlie asked Bob to give him private physics lessons, and soon both his marks and his relationship with his dad improved. Both his life and Bob’s would be much worse if they hadn’t met each other, and Charlie is proud to say that Bob, an elderly ex-homeless guy, is his best friend, and he hopes that Bob thinks the same. I Got Pregnant At 15 And My BF Is Shocked
★ Subscribe My Channel: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, I am Liz and I want to tell you about a story that I thought to be the end of my life but it turned out to be a new beginning. To make a long story short, I got pregnant when I was 15. Shocking, isn’t it? It all happened in high school, in my junior year. The year of sweet 16, driving permits, and junior prom. The year I met my first boyfriend and got into a naive, head-spinning first love. We weren’t very attentive about contraception, neither were really well-informed on the matter. Then for a few weeks I had no period, but I didn't worry as my cycle was still immature. Until one morning my reflection surprised me. Had my fairy godmother come? My breasts looked fantastic. A lightbulb went off. Suddenly all I could think was, I might be pregnant. An ad for a clinic that was offering free pregnancy tests grabbed my attention, and I went. A friend drove me. The woman walked me through the pregnancy test. A tiny plus sign materialized. Then my world crumbled. I put on a fake smile and kept moving through a resemblance of normal life. It was only a matter of time before my parents figured it out: my breasts were growing; my stomach would soon follow. I wasn't sure how my parents would react and I didn’t want to be influenced by their opinion on the matter. Now I regret I wasted time in doubts. In the meantime the gossip was spreading. Odd calls and stalking from concerned teens I knew and even some worried parents threatening to involve my parents in order to prevent me from drastic solutions. I was infuriated – not that I was tending to them but it was supposed to be totally my decision! What’s more, in my understanding it was me who was to inform my parents so that is how we finally had a talk. They were inevitably distressed about the pregnancy but vowed to support me whichever path I chose. And after my boyfriend told his family, his mom called mine. They pledged unwavering support. I would have been lost without all of them. Even with all that love, life as a pregnant teen was awful. Sixteen was not sweet. Dreams of college vanished. I was ashamed. I was depressed. September arrived; the school year began without me. I finished the year with home-schooling, isolated. Friends visited, but it hurt to hear about their life without me. By that point, my boyfriend and I didn't like each other very much. We disagreed on literally everything. So when I came to delivery I was in pieces. My daughter arrived two weeks early after 23 hours of labor. I'm not sure how I tolerated it, but my mom, my boyfriend, and my boyfriend's mom were by my side. Throughout all of this, I endured lots of public contempt. I was lucky to have had endless support. I can't imagine what life is like for girls who are forced into motherhood or embrace it alone. Some time now has passed. My boyfriend grew into a wonderful dad. Eventually, as we became adults, we parted our ways, but he's there for our girl and he travels hours to spend time with her. He's someone that could be counted on. People often assume that since I had a child as a teen I must be pro-life. I'm not. It was my choice to be a mother, not something forced upon me. It was a choice that I am grateful I had. Wish any teenage mom could tell an inspiring story like this.
I Thought This Hobo Was A Thief But Then He Saved Me
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, this is Jess, and this is the story of how she almost caught the wrong thief by mistake. Her sister works at a small convenience store that's open 24/7, right below the apartment they live in. Their parents work a lot, so she spends most of her free time there, especially during the summer break. The owner, Mr. Garrison, doesn't mind her hanging out there; he probably sees her almost like another employee because of how much she helps her sister. So, one time Jess was alone in the store - her sister and Mr. Garrison had gone to the storeroom and left her in charge. She was minding her own business when she noticed a very suspicious-looking man walk in. He was dressed poorly and looked like a typical hobo, with a messy beard and old ragged clothes. He was wandering around, looking at stuff but not picking anything up. He was acting really weird, so she decided to follow him and find out what he was up to. He tried to avoid her and hide between the aisles, but she kept onto him. When he headed toward the exit, she saw her chance to catch him red-handed. But she needed to find her sister or Mr. Garrison first. So she rushed to the storeroom, but instead just ran straight into another customer – a rich-looking lady wearing a fur coat in the middle of March. She knew instantly that she was one of those “demanding” customers who could cause a scene out of thin air. She didn't even have time to say a word before she grabbed her arm and started yelling at her for “not doing my job” and “running around like a madman.” Jess told her that she didn't even work there and that the real cashier would be back soon. But that made her even angrier. “You're a lazy brat! You're lying to me so you can get away with it!” She was so loud that Jess was afraid that Mr. Garrison would hear it, and she didn't want to cause problems for her sister, so she did her best to calm her down. She tried to be professional and asked her what she could help her with, but the woman was relentless. She was going on and on about what an irresponsible and useless worker Jess was. And just when she was on the verge of crying, the suspicious guy suddenly intervened. “Leave the girl alone. She's clearly too young to work here,” he said. That didn't work and now she was yelling at both of us, saying that he was just covering for her to get her out of trouble. So now they were arguing about whether she worked there or not. Meanwhile, she was extremely confused about why a thief would stand up for her. She was sure he had stolen something, she just didn't know what exactly. She started having doubts. Maybe she was wrong about him? Or was he doing it so she'd let him go with stolen goods? Finally, Mr. Garrison and her sister walked in and asked what was going on. She tried to answer, but the guy and the lady started shouting again. Mr. Garrison tried to make them be quiet, but without any success. Out of everything that was said, she understood only that the suspicious guy accused the crazy lady of stealing something and then yelling at her to cover it up. Woah, Jess hadn't seen that coming. He was trying to shift the blame! Like, she was grateful that he was standing up for her, but accusing the lady was pretty low. Mr. Garrison told her sister to check the surveillance cameras to see if what the guy said was true. Jess couldn't understand why he believed the guy. Obviously, this respectable and dignified woman would never do such a thing. She was crazy, yes, but surely not a thief. Although, on second thought, there was something fishy about her. She was trying to close her purse and leave when Mr. Garrison showed up, when just a minute ago she had demanded to see him. It turned out that she had stolen some expensive cheese, and also a bottle of wine. And when Jess ran into her, she was putting it into her bag. Why she did it was beyond her understanding. She certainly looked rich enough to pay for all the things she tried to steal. Then Mr. Garrison called the police, and conveniently they were just around the corner. At first, the crazy lady tried to deny everything and said that they had put the things in her purse on purpose. When her sister showed everyone the recording from the surveillance cameras, she demanded that they arrest the other guy because he had definitely stolen something too. Finally, she started crying and yelling again, and for some reason demanded a lawyer. The police officers weren't impressed by her acting skills and just escorted her out. My Best Friend Turned Out To Be Toxic
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Meet Jenny. Sometimes people are not who they seem to be, like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Her story is about a person exactly like that. About a year ago, Jenny’s family moved to a new city, so inevitably she had to adapt to a new school, and the hardest part was making new friends. Jenny got along with her classmates, but not to the point where she actually became friends with them. That all changed during one of her classes, when she sat next to Rachel. She stood out compared to the other kids – she dressed differently, talked differently and seemed much smarter than everybody else. Jenny really wanted to get acquainted with her, but didn’t know how. Luckily enough though, Rachel did it herself! One day, she passed a note to Jenny with a question: “what’s your favorite band?” She gave her answer, and then Rachel wrote her favorite one. They kept exchanging little letters like this, and it was a very cute way of getting to know each other, especially when you’re bored in class. Long story short, Jenny learned that they had a lot in common, and they immediately hit it off. In just a few weeks they became best friends. Soon everybody took it for granted that Rachel and Jenny were always together – at school, outside school, and if someone invited one of them to a party, they knew that both of them would come. It was magical! Jenny looked up to Rachel – she knew everything, from fashion to movies and art. She wanted to be a little bit like her. What could go wrong? But soon, the first warning signals began to appear. Jenny had been saving money for months to buy these new awesome sneakers, and she was super-happy when she could finally afford them. She proudly went to school in them, and she couldn’t wait to show them to Rachel! Jenny expected that Rachel would be happy for her, but instead she just said: “Oh, finally I won’t be ashamed to be seen with you in public!” Um, okay, that was weird and not what she’d expected, but okay, it was a joke. "But then it happened again, and again – she made snarky comments about Jenny’s looks, her taste in music, and even about her in general. Every time she made it look like a joke, but Jenny still noticed her sarcastic smile and how she rolled her eyes every time something was said that she didn’t like. And if Jenny got upset or tried to confront her, she always said: “it’s just a joke, stop over-reacting.” And what can you do in response to that? It made her paranoid. She kept thinking – maybe she was too touchy about it, and she should take it as it was apparently intended, as a joke? When they were with other people, Rachel’s comments would get even worse, and yet she still took it all without any objections. Then she started bailing on Jenny regularly – for example, they were meant to meet at the mall to go to a concert, but she didn’t show up and then said she had forgotten. It happened a few times, sometimes even during the same week. At first, she was upset, but then she realized that by this time she had made a lot of other friends, so she started hanging out more with them and less with Rachel. She even met a guy who she liked, and she thought that he liked her as well. And you know what? All of this made Rachel increasingly reveal her true self. She started sending her angry texts about how Jenny had betrayed her and wasn’t a real friend...then begged forgiveness, saying that she was very lonely and couldn’t live without her. Jenny thought to herself: “enough is enough”, and told her that she was not okay with the way she treated her and that she didn’t want to be friends anymore. She called her 20 times in a row but Jenny blocked her, because by now she knew that Rachel didn’t respect her. Funnily enough, the story didn’t stop there. Jenny started dating the boy she liked, and everything seemed good until she noticed that he was talking with Rachel at school. Jenny assumed the worst and asked him what she had said to him. It turned out that Rachel had said that he should stop dating her because she was a horrible person and would betray him the same way Jenny had betrayed her. Jenny asked if he believed her, and thankfully, he laughed and said ""of course not". Jenny’s still a bit upset about Rachel being such a toxic person, but she’s glad that she noticed it soon enough and didn’t let herself be manipulated. I Helped My Grandpa Find His Love (And He Helped Me Too :)
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Alan, and his grandfather is his best friend. This might sound a little weird to you. He does have friends his own age, but he still really likes hanging out with him. His grandfather always used to spend a lot of time with him. He was the one among his relatives who made his childhood exciting, by teaching him to do things like riding a bike and playing baseball. Alan still remembers how once, he hit a ball and it went right through the neighbors’ window. His grandpa gave him a conspiratorial look and they hid behind the fence. Mrs. Scott, the old troublemaker who lived next door, was furious about what happened. She hung out of the broken window, screaming loudly that Alan should be glad he was not her grandson, otherwise she would slap him. Meanwhile, both he and his grandpa were laughing. He never told him Alan off for the tricks he pulled, and always acted like he was the same age. This made their time together so much fun. Now Alan is in high school, and he always has lots of things to do. Homework with extra tasks, a part-time job at a coffee shop, and hanging out with friends have made him too busy to see his grandpa as often as he did before. That’s why he usually gives him a quick call at least twice a week. Alan’s grandma passed away a long time ago, and obviously his grandpa misses her a lot. One day he had the idea of setting up a social media account for him, thinking it would be fun. It was not an easy task to explain to him how Facebook worked, what he needed a profile for, and how to create a network of friends. But after some practice, he became a pretty advanced user. He found a guy he did military service with, a former neighbor, who he hadn’t seen for years, and even some old classmates. One of them shared a couple of very old photos they had of themselves with Alan’s grandpa which he’d never seen before. One of them was taken on New Year’s Eve, and his young grandpa was wearing a lady's dress, a wig, and a necklace. He looked hilarious! One day Alan was leaving work, and on his way to his grandpa’s house he caught site of a girl. He could tell she was new to the area since he’d never seen her before. She was reading a book, and she looked so beautiful that he felt something strange going on in his stomach. He wanted to introduce himself, but on his way towards her he lost his footing and fell clumsily onto the ground. He got up and ran away as fast as he could, hoping she didn’t notice anything. He ran all the way to his grandpa’s place with just a single thought in his head: “ You fell over on level ground in front of the most beautiful girl on the planet!” He was pretty sure he had lost any future chance of ever meeting her again. When he saw his grandpa, he couldn’t believe his eyes. He was wearing a brand new suit, brand new shoes, and even a boutonnière – he looked outstanding! “What are you up to, young man?” Alan asked, feeling a little smart alecky. He told him that he was going on a date with a lady he’d met on Facebook. They’d been chatting for a couple of days and she seemed to be very nice and interesting. And she was the one who suggested the date, so it would be totally stupid of him to miss this chance. He wished him good luck, and on his way home he suddenly thought to himself – why don’t I follow in the footsteps of my role model, be courageous, and go talk to that girl!? The next day he rushed to the coffee shop, hoping to meet her, but she never showed up that day, or the next one. But then some time later, when he had almost given up on the idea of ever seeing her again, somebody touched Alan’s shoulder. Amazingly, it was her. “Hey, aren't you that guy who was recently measuring the length of the floor?” she asked. He turned red in the face all at once. “Don't worry, I almost didn't notice anything,” she said, as she gave him a smile and invited him to a party she was organizing at her place. She said it would be a 1930s themed party, and that there would be dancing. It was only later that day that Alan remembered he was not very good at dancing. His grandpa and his girlfriend Maggie promised to tell him everything about the 1930s, and to teach him to dance. She turned out to be a very nice lady. He didn’t become Fred Astaire, but he did learn some nice moves, which he hoped would impress Kate – that was her name. So, armed with a load of useful information, he went over to her place. Needless to say, Kate looked like a million dollars, and the whole dancing thing went more than perfect. He did his best to impress her by being a gentleman, as his grandpa had advised him to. And now, there are two more happy couples in the world. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
My Friends Were With Me For My Money
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Britney. She’s a lucky person – she comes from a very wealthy family. But she’s not here to boast. Unfortunately, everyone has their problems, and hers are no less significant than anyone else’s. Her biggest problem is finding friends, and this is the reason why. Britney doesn’t think that she’s arrogant, or a snob, or whatever it is that people think about kids from rich families. Her dad is a very simple person, a self-made-man, and he wants his children to work their own way through life too. That doesn’t mean that they have strict limitations on using money – his belief is that they need to invest their time and effort in studying, and should work like everyone else who is not as lucky as they are. That’s why they have always lived a pretty simple life – not in some mansion, but in an ordinary house. Their dad also insisted that they go to an ordinary school, not some fancy private one. When Britney was a child, she didn’t even notice the difference between herself and other children. They all shared the same studies and hobbies. She’s a very sociable person, so she didn’t have problems finding friends. But when she became a teenager and went to high school, she noticed that things had changed. Everyone was divided into groups and ranks – it was not just one big group of children anymore. She didn’t like the idea of classifying people, but you have to adapt in order to enjoy life. Since she is quite easy-going, she ended up in the “celeb” group. This wasn’t her goal, of course, but she was at a new school and she just wanted to make friends. They came to her and proposed that she hang out with them – why would she say no? They seemed like really nice people. They chatted a lot about designer clothes and gadgets, and all the other things that are trendy nowadays. This was when she found out that they had somehow already learned about who she was and what family she was from – and Britney began to have doubts. She’s not a fool, and she understands that sometimes people can be guided by self-interest when choosing friends. She started watching her new friends attentively. Her dad had taught her that you should always check people out before trusting them, even if she had never been in a situation where she’d been right to mistrust people before. But everything seemed okay. It was quite a large group of people – there were eight of them – and they all had different backgrounds. They were regular people with different personalities – that’s ok then, she thought. They spent a lot of time together, and met outside school as well, and as time passed she didn’t notice any particular interest in her family’s wealth. When things started changing, she didn’t even notice at first. From time to time when they went out, one or two of her friends asked her to pay for their movie tickets or a coffee, and promised to give back the money. They never gave it back, and she thought it was a bit petty to remind them. Then...their ‘appetites’ started growing. Sometimes they asked her to pay for a round of bowling or a coffee for everyone. She didn’t think it was fair, but they were her friends and she thought it was shameful to quarrel over money. Britney became irritated by the situation, and started thinking: “What if they made friends with me only because of my money? What if they don’t even really like me?” At some point, thinking these kinds of thoughts over again and again leads you to paranoia. She wanted to check if they really liked just her money or her. She already had trust issues, and thought that it would be better to be alone than with friends like that. So one day she met up with them and pretended to be all sad, saying that they had financial problems at home – that her dad had lost his business and that he had cut her pocket money drastically. She saw them exchange glances but they didn’t say anything. Everything continued as normal and she had already begun to calm down, but when they decided to go to the cinema, she asked someone to pay for her. “I’m broke”, she said, “sorry guys, I’ll give it back as soon as I can”. They exchanged glances again. Then one of her supposed friends said: “Look, we’re not as rich as you are and we can’t sponsor you, sorry. Maybe it’d be better if you go another time”. That was it. Now she knew! How could she even think that someone could be disinterested in her family’s money! She was staring at their backs as they were walking away feeling so disappointed, and she didn’t notice that Lea was still standing by her side. She asked if Britney needed help. “Do you need to talk? I understand it can be hard”. She offered to pay for her as they went to get a coffee. She thanked Lea from the bottom of her heart, because she had restored her faith in people. They’ve been best friends ever since, and she never went back to the ‘celeb’ group.
I Saved My Mom From My Abusive Grandma
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, my name is Jen. And this is the story about me saving my mother from an abusive relationship… with her own mother. I think my story might be helpful since sometimes we just can't see how a relationship hurts us so much. My mom’s name is Nancy, and with me being born she became a teenage mom in college. She was only 18 when she moved into her college dorm where she met my biological father. At 19, mom got pregnant, and her boyfriend moved back in with his parents who lived in a neighboring state. He made ONE phone call several days afterward to tell my mom that he didn't want to be a part of it. So mom was left all alone three weeks into her pregnancy. She had paid for one month's rent for herself but couldn't afford a second month, so she had nothing to do but move back in with her mom. And that decision was not as easy as it seems. The thing is: my grandma Lucy is a very complicated person. She raised my mom alone too, but before that, during the 70s she earned some money, then invested it right, got lucky with it, and by the end of the 80s she was a very rich woman with a huge house and a nine- I have to say that growing up I did not think that anything was wrong. Grandma had always been super nice to me, which is a kind of a paradox really. She bought me expensive toys and clothes, let me get away with stuff she’d have killed my mom for, and almost never raised her voice with me. And what happened between her and my mom… I never really thought things could be any other way. My perception started to change when I made friends with Jessica, a girl I met at my karate lessons. Every week she’d invite me to her house, which was like, three times smaller than grandma’s, but what made it way more comfortable was her family. There were four of them living together: her parents, herself, and her grandmother. And what shocked me most was the way her mom and her grandma treated each other. It was a very loving and emotional relationship… like they were best friends. And I had something to compare it with. I started to notice a lot of things. So when I stepped back and looked and my mom and my grandmother, the picture was horrifying. Grandma was manipulative, abusive, and egotistical. When my mom tried to find a job for herself to become more independent, grandma would get all hysterical, telling my mom that she was being ungrateful and wanted to leave her to die alone. When mom tried to go out more (including on dates), grandma would start a fight again, blaming her that she was not being a good mother and that she wanted to leave her daughter for another man, who’d just leave her in a couple of weeks anyway. My mom was trapped both financially and psychologically. So I started to think about what I could do to get us out of this. Of course the first option was just talking to my mom. And I tried, I really tried several times, but then she would get all aggressive saying that it was none of my business. This was obviously a defense mechanism. Then I started to think about how I could get help from the outside. My biological father was never an option, but there was another man whose name was mentioned in our family all the time. It was my grandpa Jack. Every other week grandma would talk about what an evil and terrible person he was, and I thought – if that’s what my grandma says about him, then he must be the nicest man on the planet! OK, I’m kidding there, but I really felt that meeting him might be helpful. We all knew where he lived, since grandma would somehow get updates on his life regularly, so there was no problem finding him. The problem was finding the right words since I had never met him before. But my mom’s happiness was at stake, so I had to do this. One afternoon I went to his house and introduced myself. He was astonished, but in a very positive way. He invited me in to have dinner with his family. He had a lot of stuff to get off his chest. It turned out that when my mom was seven, Jack realized the marriage was not working out (or I guess he just could not take it anymore) and suggested to my grandma that they get a divorce peacefully and raise their child together. She became hysterical. And after that one conversation, she put all of her effort into getting a divorce and prohibiting my grandpa from communicating with his daughter in court. And she succeeded. He could not keep in touch with my mom until she was like eighteen, and he’d been suffering for all those years. When the ban ended and mom went to college, grandpa wrote her letters, and she even wrote several back. They were had planned to meet really soon, but mom got pregnan... My Classmates Used Me To Do Their Homework
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Clara, and this is a story about how she learned to say “no” to people! Clara had always been a hard-working student. Her classmates knew this well, and they frequently asked for her help. She didn’t mind doing so – in fact she was happy to! Sometimes they asked to copy her homework or help with a test, and she said yes, because she always thought that you should help your friends. The only problem was that they didn’t see her as their friend! Her class had several groups of friends who regularly hung out together, but none of them even invited her to meet up with them. And even if they organized a big party, they usually “forgot” to invite her. Understandably, this bothered Clara, because at school at least half of her classmates asked her to help them one way or another during the day. As soon as they’d finished, however, they were gone – and didn’t even want to talk to her. And then when a group project came along, everybody would try to be in the same group with her but they wouldn’t do anything for the project, letting her to do everything but still getting a good grade. She still kept on helping them though, because she thought that one day they would see just how useful she was to them and never said “no”, but that day never came. In fact, the opposite happened – her classmates noticed and talked to her less and less. Clara then thought to herself, “Maybe if I politely explain my point of view, they’ll understand!” So the next time the most popular guy in her class, Jack, asked her to do his homework for him, she said “hey Jack, I think you should try doing it yourself, because I don’t have time for it today.” She thought it would work, but he started trying to force her to do his homework for him by saying things like “come on, Clara, don’t be like that, we’re friends, right?” She wanted to say no, but instead, she ended up doing his homework for him. She desperately wanted to stand up to them, she couldn’t go to a teacher, because that would mean she was a snitch. So she kept on doing tasks for them. One day, they had a group assignment to do, and of course, Jack was the first to raise his hand to be with her – and Clara, again, couldn’t say no. It seemed that Jack assumed she would just do everything herself, so he didn’t even bother to talk to her about the assignment. But this time she really didn’t want to do all of the work, because she had a lot of other assignments, and well...it was meant to be done by two! So she texted Jack, because it was easier than talking to him in person. She said that he should do 50 percent of the work because she wouldn’t be able to do it alone. He texted “ok”, and she was happy. But it turned out to be all a lie, because the next day he came up to her and said “hey, I’ve been really busy lately and I can’t work on the project, can you help?” At first I said “Jack, I'm also busy...”, but he kept saying “please, please” every time she objected, so she agreed. AGAIN! Then, the next Friday evening, she saw Jack’s photos from social media, and he had been partying! And by that time she had already done her half of the project, and they had to present it by Tuesday, so she wrote to Jack that it was unfair to her and that he should finish his half. She then sent him what she had already done. He read the message but didn’t answer. Monday came, and Jack told her: “sorry, I didn’t have any time to do the project, can you do it?” She really wanted to say yes, but she controlled herself and finally said “no”. He started to say that she had promised and that it wasn’t fair, and though it was scary, she managed to say “no” again! He then got angry and insulted her, but she just kept saying “no”. In the end, he said “you know that we’ll fail the project if you don’t do it?”, and she just said “yes”. Then when he walked away, he said once more that she ought to do it. Tuesday came, and Clara hadn’t done Jack’s half out of principle, though he was really sure she had – although she didn’t understand why, because she had said “no” to him multiple times! She presented her half and Jack was sitting there, getting a bit nervous. She then said “now it’s Jack’s turn”. He got up to present, made a few sounds like “uhm...mmm…”. The teacher was looking at him, very annoyed, and some classmates who didn’t like Jack giggled. They got a bad grade, but it was worth it, because Clara had finally stood up for herself and learned to say “no”. Jack was super angry at her, but some other guys and girls actually came to her and said that it was kinda cool (they realized she’d done it on purpose). It turned out that a lot of people disliked Jack, because he was very pushy and full of himself. After that, it was a bit easier to say “no” to others. She still helps those who appreciate it, but never people who treat her without any respect! Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
I Adopted A Baby. The Biggest Screw Up In My Life
Story By David | Subscribe: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is David, and this is the story of the biggest screw up he ever made in his life. Seventeen years ago, David and his wife, Caroline, adopted a baby from an Asian American family. He never got to know them at a personal level, and as far as he knew they were very keen to maintain their privacy. They therefore had very few details about the kid’s background, and never tried to find out more. The only thing they knew was that the real parents were too young to look after children. But David and Caroline were definitely ready to adopt a child. They’d been on a waiting list for a long time, and they were so eager to become parents that they really weren’t interested in where the baby came from. This turned out to be a big mistake. Soon enough, David and Caroline adopted a handsome, intelligent and affectionate little boy, whom they named Justin. It was love at first sight. When Justin was about eight months old, David and his wife began to feel guilty that they were bringing him up without a connection to his ethnic background. Fortunately, they lived in an area with a sizeable Chinese population, so they figured it’d be easy to introduce him to his roots. And so for the next seventeen years, David and Caroline did everything possible to honor their son’s ethnic heritage. He attended Chinese language courses, and by the time he was five he could speak both Mandarin and English fluently. They also found a Chinese couple who became friends with Justin and took responsibility for his cultural upbringing. They invited him round to their home to celebrate Chinese holidays, took him out for a Chinese meal every couple of weeks, and practised Mandarin with him. From the time Justin was eight, David took him to China every two years. They never forced him to adopt his ethnic culture, because they didn’t want him to feel there was a difference between them. But they were determined not to rob him of his heritage either. Both David and Caroline were sure they were doing the right thing. Everything was going well for them until a week ago, when David was filling in Justin’s financial support application for college. He had to track down some old documents he hadn’t looked at in a while. As he was browsing through them, his eyes suddenly fell upon his son’s old adoption records. The surnames of Justin’s biological parents suddenly jumped out at him. He broke out into a cold sweat. Their names were PARK and KIM. Those are Korean last names. David’s son is not from China. Not one little bit. He’s Korean! David had never been one of those people who assumes every Asian person is Chinese, and often laughed at others for doing so. But that's what he ended up doing with his own son! Now, he has a seventeen-year-old Korean son who thinks he’s Chinese. He’s spent nearly two decades guiding Justin towards ethnic roots that are not his real ones. And the best part of the story is that he now has to reveal the truth to his son and wife. Although he’s not sure if he ever will. I adopted a baby 0:07 We introduced a baby with his roots 1:10 I felt literally petrified 2:15 The worst part of all the story 2:56 What's your story? My Mom Woke Up From A Coma And It’s Terrifying
Like this video if you want your Mom to live forever. ★ Subscribe My Channel: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Alice. She really wants to share her story, because she needs to know that she’s not alone. A year ago she was a happy girl, and her biggest problem was backtalking at school. Now she so wishes that she could turn back the clock and tell herself that life was great! She’s only 13, and she’s so tired… It all started one day when she was at school, in her English class. The headmaster came in and asked her to leave the room. He looked very worried, and Alice immediately felt nervous. When they sat down in his office, he urged her to sit down and told her that something bad had happened in her family. Her mom had been on her way to the school to take Alice home, and got caught up in a bad car crash. It was really, really bad, he said. Be strong, Alice, he said, she was alive but at the hospital, and the doctors were evaluating how serious her injuries were. Now she had to stay at the school until her dad came to take her home. Alice didn’t cry; she was in some kind of nervous shock. He gave her some water and called in the school psychologist, who tried to talk to her but Alice stayed silent. She didn’t talk even when her dad came in for her and took her home. There was only one thought in her head: “Dear God, if you exist, make my mom live and be healthy and I’ll be a good girl forever”. Then some very shocking news came from the hospital – her mom was in a coma, and she had very serious brain damage. All they could do was pray that she woke up. This situation lasted for quite a long time – several weeks at least. Both Alice and her dad lived a robotic routine – waking up, having breakfast, going about their business, going home, watching TV, going back to sleep. Alice had only that one thought, and couldn’t concentrate on anything else. She felt as though she was physically ageing as the days went by; she was so tired of waiting, and felt that if she looked into the mirror she’d see someone with white hair and their first wrinkles. When the news came, Alice didn’t know how to accept it. She finally woke up, that was the good news. But the bad thing was that she had suffered grave brain damage, meaning that she could no longer talk or react to people, or even recognize anyone. They called it a vegetative state, but actually it’s a “vegetable” state – all the individual can really do is breathe, and not much else. The feeling for Alice was one of pure horror. She went to see her mom quite often, but whenever she looked at her all she saw was a shell of a person, not her actual mother. She fantasised about her coming back, but the doctors said no one knew how she would react to the treatment. The doctors and nurses, as well as Alice and her dad themselves, did absolutely anything they could to wake her up. She spent long hours reading stories to her, hoping that something would penetrate. And finally, on one glorious day, Alice noticed that as she was reading, her mother’s eyes moved in her direction as if she could hear her. It was a miracle! She ran out of the ward shouting with happiness. The doctors said it was good news because it meant that some of her damaged brain cells were being restored, and from that moment on they could start active rehabilitation. They also performed a brain scan and confirmed that there were regions in her brain that were now reacting to stimuli. Alice and her dad arranged a party to celebrate. It may seem foolish, but Alice was sure that her mom would get better in no time at all now that her brain had woken up. They attended physical rehab, where nurses moved her limbs here and there, and she underwent some strange electro-therapies or something like that. In fact, her treatment lasted round the clock. She did respond, but she still couldn’t talk, didn’t recognize her family, didn’t react. And suddenly, all the hope Alice had felt left her. She realized that her mom wouldn’t be coming back. To this day, she remembers the exact moment when this realisation came to her – she took her to a room with a projector and showed her their family videos. And as Alice was watching the old clips of them all happy – and her looking healthy – on the screen, it was the first time since the accident had happened that she started crying, and she gripped her mom’s hand. So that’s why Alice feels so tired. Of course, she’s never lost hope. And she never will. But one part of her knows that her mom will never be the same again, and this understanding tears her up inside. She sometimes imagines that her mom has just gone away for a vacation to some beautiful island, and is still enjoying her life. Alice just wishes that she could be there with her. It would also be nice if you could subscribe to the channel and share her story, so that maybe someone who has had a similar experience could share it with her.

By Thomas McFall | Subscribe: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Please Comment Like and Share! This is one of a true stories about immigration and friendship. Once there was a student called Tom. He attended management classes. He sat in the same front-row seat every single day. He often found himself sitting next to this one foreign guy, whose English was very barely. About the most complex thing this guy was able to say in English was, “Wow, my muffin is really good”. He also tended to place everything he owned – his bag, food, books, phone – right all over Tom's desk space, like ALL the time. Every day when Tom walked through the door for class, he would say “Ah, Tom. You here. Okay.” He then frantically started removing all his stuff from Tom's desk. He was also in the habit of saying, “Ready for class, yeah?” to him every day, and then high-fiving him. For all these reasons, Tom tended to always feel annoyed at this guy. In his mind, he was thinking “Dude, you know that’s where I sit every day. Why do you put your stuff there each time, then? And seriously, I really have no interest in high-fiving a guy who doesn’t even know English at 8 am! Just get your things out of my work area.” Today, however, Tom got to class a little bit late. He was sending a text message just outside the room. Through the door, he could see that, as usual, his space was occupied by this guy’s belongings. While he was writing his message, another student, who was also running late, walked into the classroom ahead of him and attempted to sit in his usual spot, because it was right by the door. Then he saw the high-fiving foreigner guy stop this dude from taking the seat, saying “I’m sorry. My good friend Tomas sits here.” It was at that moment that Tom understood everything – the foreign guy didn’t put his stuff in his spot to irritate him. He was doing it because he wanted to save the place for him every morning! Tom had been thinking too much about himself to notice this, or to see that the foreign guy actually wanted to be his friend. As cheesy as it sounds, he was touched. He then went into class. Of course, the foreign guy cleared away his things from the seat and said “Ah, Tom. You here. Okay.” And they did their usual high five. After class, Tom asked him if he wanted to go to lunch with him. He did, and they got talking. Tom finally got past the guy’s imperfect English. It turned out that he’d moved here from the Middle East to get a college education in the USA. He was planning to return home after he got his degree. He was married with two children. He had a full-time job, and sent everything he earned back to his family. Tom asked him whether he liked the States. He explained that although he missed his family, it was an exciting place to live. He then said, “Not every person is nice to me like you are, Tom.” Tom bought him that lunch – he deserved it. Then he got another high five; it was a tradition now. What’s the moral from today's storytime? Don’t think only about yourself, like Tom did. He didn’t realise for nearly an entire semester that this guy just wanted to be friends. But it’s better late than never! TIMESTAMPS: I was ALWAYS annoyed with this guy! 0:19 Another guy who was also late tried to take my seat 1:21 I was touched...1:40 Touching story of foreign student from Middle East 2:02 Moral of the story 2:44 - - - We hope you liked this Actually Happened animated story time. My Teacher Bullied Me. I REVENGED!
Story By Mark | Subscribe our channel: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j When you hear the word “bullying”, the first thing you probably think of are cruel school kids who make someone’s life impossible. This is not what happened with Mark; fortunately, all was good with his classmates. Instead, he was the victim of bullying on the part of his teacher. Can you imagine? A TEACHER. He experienced a great deal of unpleasant moments, and he’d like to share with you how he managed to overcome this problem. Mark was a senior in high school at the time. He was a solid C student in math, having struggled with it throughout his school years. He’d always liked math though, and was eager to know more, which is why he usually posed a lot of questions to the teacher during lessons. Last year he ended up with a new teacher, Ms. Roberts, who was known locally as a genius at math. She was also infamous as a heartless and nasty woman, but Mark thought this wasn’t something to be worried about. Anyway, he took up her classes in the hope that he could improve his math grades given that she was so good. The initial lessons went alright; Mark was his usual enthusiastic self, asking lots of questions. Maybe they were somewhat dumb ones, but hey, as far as he understood it, any teacher would be glad to help such an interested student. Sure…it didn’t take long for her to come up with phrases like "And here comes the slow boy again", "Surprise-surprise, you don't understand it again", "Do we have to go extra slow for you today?" In front of everyone! And everyone laughed. For some reason, Mark became a real red flag for her. Every single lesson he was at the receiving end of new creative insults from Ms. Roberts. He certainly wasn’t the best student there, but he wasn’t the worst one either, and he was never able to understand where such contempt for him came from. You might say that Mark should have just taken a deep breath and kept his cool for a couple of semesters. The problem was that with those math lessons several days a week, it was getting harder and harder for Mark to drag himself to school every day. So he tried to solve the problem on his own by trying to act very friendly and calm towards her. It backfired and she became even nastier. Alright, time for plan B, he thought. He decided to confront her directly by asking: “Ms. Roberts, could you stop insulting me in front of the whole class?” All he got in response was “I don’t know what you’re talking about. And by the way, I wouldn’t expect a C at the end of the year if I were you”. That required extreme measures. He went to see the school principal about the problem, who sent someone in to examine her during class. She acted respectful and normal for one day, and then went back to bullying him with twice the enthusiasm. That was enough. Mark went to the local radioshack, bought a recorder, and secretly taped every insult she threw at him for the rest of the school year. One day, he asked her a question during class. Her response even now is still burnt into his brain: "I've been teaching for over 10 years and that was the single dumbest question I've ever heard from anyone." She continued the lesson without answering. Mark calmly stood up, packed up his stuff, and headed to the nurse’s office to dismiss himself from school. He went home and compiled all of the brutal tapes he’d recorded into one glorious masterpiece. The next day, he went to see the principal, and they listened to only a couple of the insults before he stopped the tape. He wanted more witnesses present, as well as Ms. Roberts. So he collected board directors, the local school police officer, the vice principal and Ms. Roberts herself. What followed were some of the greatest minutes of Mark’s life. He watched as the administrators went from fed up with being in another useless meeting to furious and speechless, with some of them keeping their mouths open for the duration of the tape. He also observed Ms. Roberts go from being confident and stuck-up to realizing how much she had screwed up her life and career. She was publicly roasting herself in front of the most important people from the district. The tape finished, the administrators looked around in astonishment, and Mark was asked to leave the room. The final time he saw Ms. Roberts was when she was leaving the boardroom, in a state he’d never seen her in before. Mark looked back, and they made eye contact as he gave her biggest most and most mischievous smile. After that, Ms. Roberts was nowhere to be seen. The news soon spread quickly throughout the school, and he earned the reputation of a saint. He later learned that not only was she fired, but now no school district in the area would hire this outstanding educator. Mark felt very pleased, and not only for himself. Now he knew that that woman wouldn’t poison any other student’s life, at least for the time being.

She found out that one of her family's stories was a huge lie. Lily has a really big family. Decades ago, her great grandfather came to the United States from Romania. Keeping family ties is kind of a national trait for them, but the main thing is that everybody loves each other a lot. Now they all live near each other in the same town, and get together for every holiday or just whenever they feel like it. So between all of her aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas, there are very few people that Lily hasn't met. Some of them died young, one of her uncles moved to Europe and stayed there with his family (they did talk on the phone once), but all the others are nearby and they see each other almost every other week. The only blind spot in Lily’s family tree is her dad’s father – her grandpa. And her family was not all that willing to talk about him. The one thing that she remembers always hearing was that he died in the war, but no one would even say which war that was. But Lily didn’t take much interest in this until her first year of high school. It was early November, and Veteran's Day was coming up. Their history teacher invited them to talk about the war experiences of their families. And Lily thought to herself that she’d love to talk about her grandpa whom she’d never met. When she got home and asked her dad, he got all annoyed and refused to talk. He said that stuff like that was personal and that she shouldn’t talk about it in class. That didn’t make much sense to her. And she saw the look on her dad’s face when he was saying it. Something wasn’t right. So she went to ask some of her other relatives what had happened to him. When Lily wouldn’t let them change the subject, all of them said basically the same thing, but the details were different. Aunt Angie said he was in the infantry, grandpa George said he was in aviation, while her grandma Anne said that she couldn’t remember. But what was more striking was that they didn’t even mention the same war. Two of them said it was Vietnam, while grandma Anne said it was Korea, which was not even, like, mathematically possible. And when she pointed out their contradictions, they said something like: “It was a long time ago, it’s hard to remember.” No, wait a minute. Nothing was ever hard to remember when it came to her family’s history! Something. Was. Not. Right. And she was determined that she was going to figure out what. So she started her own research. She looked through lots and lots of veteran's lists from Vietnam and Korea. All she had was his last name. And she found nothing. She then made a couple of phone calls to some local memorial foundations. They looked through their archives and didn’t find any mention of him either. That was where she got even more excited. What if her grandpa was still ALIVE? And if that's true, then why did he live apart from the family? After nights of googling, she was so desperate that she switched to searching on Facebook (obviously, that wasn't the most logical thing to do), but everyone she found with this surname was either one of her family members that she already knew or someone who just couldn’t be her missing grandpa – unless he had an anime profile pic. Of course, she didn’t tell her parents or anyone else what she was doing. And nobody asked, thinking she had been satisfied with the answers they gave her. A couple of weeks after Lily started her research, she was at the table at another family gathering. They were discussing some of their distant relatives that lived in Romania, and a thought struck her. What if she searched for their original last name, the one they had had before the family got it Americanized? She ran to her room, trying not to attract too much attention, and googled it. Most of the results were irrelevant, but one of the things she found was a Facebook page of a man in his 70s, who looked almost exactly like her dad. Wow. And his name was Alex. She started to write a message to him. But what are you supposed to write in a situation like this? “Hey there, I’m your granddaughter from the family that cut all their ties with you?” That didn’t sound good. Both profile pics he had were of him in front of his house, and she recognized the area. It was the other side of town; her friend Kelly lived there, so she’d been to that area a couple of times. Of course, she was scared to go, but she was too excited not to. The next day, Lily left school early and got on the bus. Finding the house was harder than she thought, but she eventually did. It was small, simple, and pretty old. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
I Hid The Truth From The Police And They Came After Me
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Lewis, and this is the story of how he helped the police catch some serial robbers. So, it all started when Lewis’ folks took away his Xbox and grounded him for three weeks. He wasn't allowed to play video games or hang out with friends. They expected him to study non-stop, because he was failing almost everything at school. And, as if on purpose, they did it literally right before the new Assassin's Creed game was released. It was a bad situation, but nothing could have stopped him from getting his favorite thing in the world. So, naturally, Lewis turned to his best buddy, Stanley, for help. And as always he didn't disappoint. Not only did he have the game, but he was also sick, so his parents let him stay at home for a couple of days. Everything was aligning perfectly. Or so he thought... So, that day he rode his bike over to Stanley's house. He was in a hurry, anticipating some high-grade gaming time, when all of a sudden he heard gunshots – real gunshots – and screaming. He saw several people running out of a pawn shop that was right in front of him. Luckily, there was a dumpster nearby where he could hide. From there he was able to see them better. They looked like typical robbers, with face masks, guns, and everything. They were trying to keep a hold of the money inside of their bags, but some of it fell on the ground anyway. They were obviously panicking. He barely even noticed the car they were getting into. He couldn't see it clearly from his hiding spot, so he took out his phone and tried to film them. The robbers had almost left when he was finally able to capture their car on his camera. It was just a 15-second video, but he hoped it would at least give a decent view of the car. After that, he went straight to Stanley's house. He wasn't sure if the robbers noticed him or not, but he wasn't going to risk it. He told Stanley everything, and showed him the video. It was good enough to see the car plate number. They had completely forgotten about the game, and instead talked for hours about what to do, and still couldn't decide if they should tell somebody about it or not. Finally, they decided that there had probably been surveillance cameras around, and police could do without him or his recording. They also didn't want their parents to find out and go berserk about the whole thing. Three weeks went by, and Lewis’ period of being grounded ended, but this was just the start of his suffering. The robbery seemed to be the only thing people were talking about. Wherever he went he heard something new about it and, every time, it made him feel like a complete jerk. It seemed that the police still didn't have any leads, and asked for witnesses to come forward with any information. The pawn shop's owner, Mr. Stevenson, had been shot, and his wife had had a heart attack. Both of them were still in the hospital. He also learned that this wasn't the first robbery that had happened, and the police had been after them for several months already. After a long battle with his conscience, he finally decided that he needed to tell the police about the video and the car. So, the plan was to send the video to the police from a library computer. That way they would know it was done by someone using a school account, but not who actually sent it. Then the problem would be solved, the robbers would end up in prison, and he would be the anonymous hero of the day. Lewis went to the library and started googling which e-mail account he could use to send the video. But at that moment he felt the spooky presence of the school librarian, Mrs. Mullins, nearby. When she asked him what he was researching, his mind went blank. He hadn’t come up with a proper lie beforehand, so he said the only thing he could think of – the pawn shop's robbery. That was a huge mistake, because she then bombarded him with questions. He was now panicking, and it probably showed because she asked him if he was alright. “It's just so horrible what happened, y'know? The robbery! Poor Mr. Stevenson and his wife! Awful, it's just so awful. It makes me so scared that they haven't caught the robbers yet. Like, what if they robbed the school? Or the library? Have you thought about that possibility? Knowledge is power, right? And the robbers...what did they want?” He couldn't stop talking nonsense to save his life. He was just saying random stuff, hoping she would believe him and leave him alone. He was sure she wouldn’t, but she left him to do his “research” anyway. So, he quickly wrote out the email, attached the video, and signed it “Anonymous.” Then he snuck out of the library to avoid another interrogation and went home... My Boyfriend Is A Control Freak And He's Way Out Of Line
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Gina. Do you think it’s possible for a person to love you TOO MUCH? Well, this is EXACTLY what happened to her! She first saw Brad at school, and he was such a handsome boy with the prettiest smile she had ever seen. Every day, she would sit there hoping he would notice her, and then finally, it happened! He came over to her and asked if she was free that evening, and it was the happiest moment of her life. They went to the movies, and then for a walk in a park, and it was super romantic. Not long afterwards, they started to date, and the first few weeks were perfect – they saw each other every day, and he always told her how beautiful she was, and when they weren’t together he texted her all the time, telling her how much he loved and missed her. It was so sweet. But sometimes Gina was busy with school or seeing her friends, and during that time he would text her non-stop. One day she was doing her homework, and when she finished, she looked at her phone, and there were HUNDREDS of texts and missed calls. The first ones were like, “I love you” “I miss you,” but then it turned into things like “are you alright?” “where are you?” “why don’t you answer me?” She called Brad and said, “I’m sorry for not answering, I was busy with my homework.” He said “okay, but call me next time because I was worried.” It was quite sweet the first time, but then it happened again, and again. Each time when she wasn’t able to answer him right away, even if it was during a lesson, he started to panic. One time he even knocked on a classroom door and asked the teacher if she could come out. It was sooo embarrassing! Brad always wanted to be with Gina – like, ALL the time. He was visibly upset if she decided to spend some time with her friends instead of him. Honestly, it was kind of a turn off at this point; it’s hard to like a boy who doesn't give you any space. She told her friends about it, and they thought she was selfish because he clearly just loved her so much. Of course, they didn’t. They only got worse. He would wait for Gina to come out of class after each lesson and insisted on them always being together. At this point, even her friends realized that something was wrong. When she told him that she wanted to spend some time apart from him, he got mad and said “you don’t love me anymore!” She had to prove him wrong, so the only time she could be without him was when she was at home, and even then he still texted her constantly. The last straw for Gina was when she was talking to a boy named Johnny, a classmate, about the project they were doing together for school, and Brad came up to them, looked Johnny right in the eyes and said to him, “stop talking to her, she’s mine!” She tried to explain to Brad that he should calm down, that Johnny was just a classmate, but he wouldn’t listen and was trying to act all manly and “protect” her. Johnny got up and left, muttering “weirdo.” Gina was so embarrassed, and she said to Brad, “this is not okay, you behave like a stalker, can you please just stop!?” But he just answered: “I do it because I love you!” She didn’t know why Brad acted the way he did, but she no longer saw him as this cool, confident boy she had thought she knew before – her feelings towards him had changed. So later that day she said that she didn’t want to date him anymore. He begged her to reconsider and said he was sorry like a hundred times, and when she said “no” he got angry and implied that she liked Johnny, and that was why she was dumping him. Ugh! He texted her every day for two weeks, saying how much he missed her, and she explained over and over to him that she didn’t want to date anymore. For a few days he was silent, and she thought he must have moved on, but then… He called her and said “can you please look out your window?” She did, and saw a bunch of lit candles spelling out “I love you”. It was so awkward! She went outside and tried to explain him that he was a great guy, but she didn’t like this insane level of control. He was so upset, like he was holding back tears, and she felt so sorry for him. He said that she was his first girlfriend and he felt scared of losing her, and that’s why he acted the way he did, and he didn’t see what was happening until his older brother pointed it out to him. He asked if they could start again and promised that it would be better this time. Gina wanted to say “yes”, but she couldn’t, so she politely declined. And she felt so bad about it, like she was a bad person for refusing, but something inside of her said that all of it would just happen again. Gina thinks that a person shouldn’t be in a relationship if he or she is not comfortable in it, even if you feel sorry for someone. Brad is not a bad person, but he should have dealt with his insecurities before starting a relationship. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

You may think it sounds cool when your mom is more like your friend than your parent, but... it’s not. Not at all. It’s weird to think that I am now 18, older than my Mom was when I was born. My mom had me with her first boyfriend, and he and his family moved away as soon as they found out about my Mom’s... situation. I still remember a little bit about how I was a little girl and my Mom was still finishing school and I was with her sometimes, and I was at her graduation. She tried to apply to college afterward, but it didn’t work out, so she ended up working at a store. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents, but they still had to work, so I couldn’t just be at their place all the time. Some of those memories are good ones, like when her friends would come over and I would hang out with them, but now I understand that they didn’t really like that, it was more like... they tolerated it. But most of my memories are bad ones - like my Mom changing boyfriends pretty often, I don’t even remember some of them. I think the longest was for 2 years, and it ended a little while after my brother was born, when I was 9. Since he was born, I had to learn to take care of him, because my Mom was always working, and my grandparents weren’t always able to take care of us. In a way, I felt more like a parent to my brother than my Mom. As me and my brother got older, she started to leave us alone more often than usual. Sometimes she would even forget to leave money for food, but at least we were fed in school. Yeah, she needed to work, but she would also just party all weekend sometimes, and when she was home and me or my brother tried to ask her to help us with our homework or something, she would say that she was tired. Of course our Mom wasn’t BAD, she would buy us candy or take us somewhere cool, like the zoo or the amusement park, and those would be the best days of my life. I guess she was a good friend, but not really a good Mom. When I was 15 and my brother was 6, something horrible happened. This was the moment when everything changed. After a long week my mom wanted to relax, so she went to a party with her friends, leaving me and my brother home alone, again. My grandparents were busy, and she planned to be out for just a few hours. I don’t know what happened exactly, but my brother started to feel really sick, he was pale and red at the same time, and I didn’t know if it was food poisoning or a fever or something completely different. I PANICKED and tried to call my Mom, but she didn’t answer, so I was searching through the house for some medicine, too scared to call an ambulance because they would ask questions like where our mom was. I tried to call Mom again, and she answered, but it was so loud and all she could say was, “I CAN’T HEAR YOU SWEETIE!” I was super angry at her, but there was nothing I could do... So I took my brother, sat with him on the bus, and went to the nearest hospital. Nurses were asking me where are our parents were and I said that they had to leave for a couple of hours and their phones had died. I didn’t have to lie a lot, but I had to come up with a few things so that they wouldn’t get too suspicious. My brother was generally okay and ended up having something like food poisoning in the end. My Mom came to the hospital and asked what had happened, and you could see that she was scared. We went home and she tried to talk to us and say she was sorry multiple times, but I didn’t want to talk with her. When we arrived home, I finally told Mom everything I thought about her for the first time in 15 years. I said how tired I was of not being able to ever go out on the weekends because I had to babysit my brother, I said how I was tired of her forgetting about us and never helping us with anything, about how we barely had anything, yet she found the time and money to go to parties. I had no friends or anything because I had to babysit my brother every evening. Then my mom told me everything that was bothering her since my birth: she had always dreamed of becoming a lawyer, or just simply going to college, but she made this one mistake that changed her life. She said that she never ever regretted having me or my brother in her life, but sometimes she just wanted to experience the normal life of a young girl. I said that I also wanted to have the normal life of a young girl. My mom started crying and said she was sorry and that she knew she was a bad mother and she was tired of feeling bad about herself all the time - like she was a bad daughter, a bad mother, and a bad person. My Sister's Boyfriend Cheated On Her... With Me
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? But she never thought that when Kate got into trouble she’d be the only one who could save her. Kate and Gloria are only one year apart. She was 16 and Gloria was 15 when this story started. Ever since they were little kids, they would always argue about everything, and she still doesn’t know if it was because they were way too alike or too different from each other. They could never share toys, Kate was always breaking her stuff, and she in her turn always told on her to their mom, which would make Kate even angrier. And the fact that they had to share a room didn’t help. As they got older, it only got worse. They would barely talk to each other, and sometimes they wouldn’t even say hello to each other, or they'd just get mad at each other about nothing, like if one of them left a dirty plate in the kitchen. Honestly, Gloria thinks that most of the time it was Kate who started these conflicts... But one day, her sister suddenly became very calm and happy. It was so weird seeing her smile! She wouldn’t even get mad at Gloria when she listened to her music louder than usual, and once, she even let her borrow a t-shirt from her that she liked. It didn't take her long to solve the mystery! Kate had found a boyfriend. His name was Justin. And she has to admit – she got a little jealous when she first saw him: he was tall and handsome. She even got to chat with him a little bit when he was at their house, and they had so much in common that she almost started to take a fancy to him… But she wouldn’t do that to her sister, because no matter how much they argued, they were still family. And she didn't want to jeopardize the fact that Kate was being way nicer than she ever had before. So she decided that she would enjoy it while it lasted. But one day, Kate and Justin came back to their house together and she went to take a shower. After a while, Justin started talking about weird stuff with Gloria, saying things like “It’s so cool that both you and Kate are so beautiful, I guess it runs in the family, but one of you was luckier. Can you guess who?” And then he tried to hold her hand! What?!! Gloria has to admit that she didn’t remove her hand right away, but it was only because she was so shocked by what was happening...and he was looking at her with this dreamy look...but then Kate got out of the shower and got ready quickly so they could go out (they were planning to go to a party or something). Gloria didn’t know what to do in that situation. She kind of liked Justin, but did she really want to be with a guy who was willing to cheat like that? No! And besides, Kate was her sister… So she decided to tell her. She wanted to do it right after Kate returned, but it was too awkward. And over the next few days, Justin came over again, and it was weird with him in the house...so one evening, she finally worked up the nerve to tell her. “Kate, I have to tell you something…” and then she basically told her the entire story. Kate looked at her and then she snapped at Gloria: “You’re always lying! You’re just jealous that I have a boyfriend and you don’t!” She tried to tell her the truth, but it was useless. Over the next week she was so rude. Basically, everything had now gone back to its normal state between them. But every time Justin came over she was so angry...he would look at her with this nasty smile, because Kate told him what Gloria had said and he totally played dumb. She was so angry! But she also felt so sorry for her sister...She remembered all the good times they had had together. Even if they constantly argued, they had always had each other’s backs...and she couldn’t just forget about that! So she HAD to prove to her that she wasn’t lying. But she couldn’t just text Justin or something like that because he would know what she was up to, so she basically waited until he came over to their house again, and when they were left alone…she hid her phone nearby and started to record a video. When Kate went to take a shower, she started talking to him, but she knew that she had to be careful. It went something like this: “Why did you stop paying attention to me, Justin? What happened? Not interested anymore?” and he said “Because you told Kate!” “I didn’t tell her! I wrote it in my diary and she read it herself, I promise!” She really hoped that Justin would be stupid enough to believe her, and well, he was! He then asked her what she wanted now, and she asked if he would be willing to break up with her sister to be with her, and he started to think and said “Maybe, but not right now...” or something like that... My Сoach Pressed Me But I Am Thankful For That
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Mick, and he wants to tell you a crazy story about his relationship with his coach. He’s a talented athlete, but his sport is not the most popular one. He adores it, though. But once, his new coach nearly made him quit. However, now Mick knows that he would never change his coach for someone else. This is what happened. Mick likes sports a lot. The city where he lives has a very good sports facility with a number of different courses to choose from. He had always been part of the usual team sports, but he was never much of a team player. At some point, he decided that he needed to choose something new, as his motivation was dissipating fast. He was also a typical teenager who had lots of problems with his studies, with girls, and with his parents. He had a lot of frustration and anger inside of him, and wanted to take the pressure off. This is why he decided that single combat sports would be perfect for him. However, Mick soon learned that ordinary martial arts didn’t attract him very much – they were too violent and traumatic for him. That’s when one of the coaches offered him an exotic solution, which was fencing. The chances are many of you don’t know what it is, and neither did Mick at the time. The idea is that you fight with a sword in beautiful white clothes that fully protect you from any damage, and which let you concentrate on your goal of hitting your rival with a weapon in a certain way. Unexpectedly, it turned out that Mick had a talent. His coach was very enthusiastic, and after several months of training in a group he proposed that he start training with a private coach that he knew, who was a highly qualified specialist. He told Mick that Mr. J, as everyone called him, led all his private students to spectacular results, and that this was the best offer he would get. Of course, he agreed. It turned out that Mr. J had already seen him at training, and he liked what he had seen. Mick’s a bit ashamed to tell you about his feelings now. It was horrible. Mr. J squeezed all the energy and enthusiasm out of him. The first thing he told Mick was this: “You haven’t done any physical preparation, so now we’ll concentrate on this”. He started with 2 hours of cardio and crossfit, and he said to him: “And now we will begin working on the basic steps.” Mick thought it was a joke, but he was dead serious. The worst thing was that Mr. J never had a nice word to say about Mick. He always had this sour expression on his face, as if he was the worst student he had ever had. He was working his socks off just to earn his appreciation, at least just a little bit, and every time he got that “Meh, not impressed” face. The results of Mick’s strenuous training regime were visible – he won each time without even too much effort. He thought that this would be enough for Mr. J to say to him: “Good job!”. All he got was a ticking off that his winning score was 15-6 when it was supposed to be 15-0! He felt so useless; he needed some praise so much, and all he got was constant nagging and humiliation. Mick thought many times about giving up, even though generally he was not a quitter by nature. He had his first big, high-level competition coming up, and the preparations were so painful and unbearable that he decided that afterwards he would either leave his coach or give up fencing. He was training at fencing all day long, and during the nights he had nightmares where he would see Mr. J. He arrived at the competition all on edge. Mr J. had his “I’m not impressed” face on all day. He didn’t even bother talking to him or give him advice ahead of his multiple fights with other fencers. But Mick hadn’t realized how much progress he’d actually made. He passed all the stages during that day without too much effort. Didn’t he deserve at least a “well done”? No, according to Mr. J. When he got to the finals, he was already furious. He had just one final fight to win the competition ahead of him, and Mr. J was still silent. At that point the anger rose up in him, and when the fight started Mick imagined that his rival was his coach. So, he had the energy that made him move forward, the frustration that made him beat his imaginary Mr. J again and again. When it was over, he found that he was the champion. Then suddenly something unexpected happened. Mr. J ran towards him yelling “Good job, boy! I knew it, I knew it! Well done!” He was smiling happily and hugging him. Mick couldn’t understand what was happening. He couldn’t even imagine his coach smiling. But suddenly the realization came that it had all been part of Mr. J’s strategy to make him excel – that in the end, his perfectionism was what had made him win, and that he had put lots of effort into his victory as well. He forgot all the bitter words he wanted to say to him, and all he said was, “Thank you, Mr. J”. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
My Mom Revealed My Secrets To The Whole Internet
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi! This is Ryan, he’s fifteen, and he’s been thinking about sharing this story for quite a while already. And a few weeks ago it took a turn that no one expected…This story is about him and his mom. Her name is Diane, and Ryan is her only child – this is important to the story. She studied to become an architect, but lost interest really fast, so she never actually worked as one. When she married his dad at twenty three, she was right at the point where she didn’t really know what she wanted to do. Then pretty soon after, his mom got pregnant, and that eventually helped her to decide. She started a blog. A mom blog, or a baby blog – however you want to call it. Blogs were kind of booming at that time, and a lot of people were starting their own. Hers started as a kind of online diary for friends and family. Ryan’s mom would write posts about her pregnancy and expectations, and share tips and pictures – basically, anything that interested her. As the weeks went by, the blog gained more and more readers, and a lot of them were strangers. The internet itself was growing quickly at this time. After he was born, his mom became even more enthusiastic about her blog. Now, she had a lot more things to tell her readers about. Of course there was stuff there he can’t remember now, since the blog is older than him. But once Ryan was a little older and able to understand it, he once scrolled all the way down the feed to 2005. And there was everything – pictures of him as a newborn baby, then as a toddler, and on and on…more on that a little later. And it was not just about the pictures of course. She would write about what happened during almost every day, with the most intimate details. And he learned a lot of stuff most kids are not supposed to know: like the fact that he wasn’t planned. Ryan’s totally fine with that, and all of these early posts are not a problem for him in general. But things just got awkward as he was growing up. You don’t have many secrets when you’re a toddler, but as you get closer to your teenage years, you start to experience stuff you’d rather keep private. The problem was that his mom didn’t seem to understand that. He must have been around twelve when he started to have problems with what she was posting. Because, you know, he grew up with the blog, and for a really long time he didn’t think it could be any other way. And the thing that still amazes him is that his mom didn’t lose interest at any point throughout those years. Of course, she doesn’t post every day anymore, but she still does it at least two or three times a week. And the content changed – it was now about being the mom of a teenager. And that was the problem. Here’s an example. When Ryan was thirteen he told his mom he liked a girl from his school. You see, he’s not that close with any of his friends, and he feels awkward sharing stuff like that with his dad. So he told his mom about his feelings and they had a nice talk, or so he thought at the time. And he felt terrible when he found out that the whole story got posted online. What made things even worse was the fact that the girl’s mom was one of the blog’s active readers. And even though Ryan’s mom didn’t mention the girl’s name, it wasn’t that hard to guess. He never actually talked to the girl about his feelings, but he’s pretty sure she found out. That was the first time that Ryan and his mom had a serious fight about the blog. He was trying to tell her that this stuff was private and the last thing he wanted was for everybody to know. But she just didn’t seem to understand. She said that these were things every child went through and there was nothing to be embarrassed about. He wasn’t embarrassed, he just didn’t want to be exposed for all the world to see like that! Several months after this, things got even worse. One of his classmates came across his mom’s blog online somehow. Of course he quickly told everyone else, and all of the kids at school found the time to scroll down her feed. Long story short, the next few weeks weren’t easy for Ryan. There were so many things his classmates were not supposed to know, including things he had said about them. And, of course, every post had something that they could make fun of. He was deeply hurt. He tried talking to his mom again, but she still refused to see the problem, so he just made the only decision possible: he stopped telling her anything about his life. As the months passed, their relationship deteriorated. Once she tried to talk to him about the problem, and he even thought they understood each other. But the next day she wrote a post about him being offended about the blog... Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My Dad Left Us After A DNA Test
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Damian. The story that he’d like to tell you…well, it’s very painful for him and his family. But learning about his experience could potentially help somebody out there. Although he doesn’t really know how. So...just listen. Damian’s going to tell you about what happened last Christmas, but first let him explain what his life was like before that day. He had a pretty ordinary life, and there was of course nothing bad about that. He comes from a big family: his mother, his father, him, and his little brother and sister. They didn’t have any serious problems, and they were just an ordinary, happy family. They were very close-knit, and had kind and trusting relationships between each other. Christmas was approaching. And so were some changes in Damian’s life. It was his last year at school — and college was waiting for him in another state, many miles away from home and his family. Just thinking about this made him feel uncomfortable and even a little sad, and for that reason he decided to prepare a little surprise for his parents and siblings. And he would give it to them on one the most wonderful evenings there is to do something nice for the ones you love. For a long time he thought about what present he could give them all. He chatted about it with his friends, and he discussed it with his girlfriend. It had to be something unusual, something that would be appropriate for both his parents and his younger brother and sister, and it had to be memorable – he wanted them to have only the best memories about his last “family Christmas” before he went to college. Finally, he figured out what he needed to do. He discovered that genealogical DNA tests had in the past few years become very popular and affordable. Neither his mom nor his dad knew anything about their ancestors, and he thought that it would be interesting and amusing to find out. As for his brother and sister, they would definitely enjoy an adventure – a trip to a real laboratory, where cheerful lab workers would take some saliva from each of them and then they would find out something intriguing about who their forefathers were. The plan worked out perfectly in his head, so he paid for five tests – one for each person in his family. And then Christmas came. They had a nice dinner, talked and played games at the table, sang a couple of Christmas carols together, then took pictures in front of the Christmas tree and exchanged presents. He decided to save his for the very end and hinted heavily that he had a surprise for everyone. And all went well! His dad nodded approvingly and said that it would be an interesting and educational family activity. His younger brother and sister did not fully understand the idea but were intrigued, as they were supposed to be. But his mom behaved very strangely…When she heard him talk about the idea of DNA testing she became extremely nervous. She said that Damian had spent a lot of money for nothing and that their family didn’t need to do any tests to prove their happiness, and that he should never have suggested such a ridiculous thing. Both his dad and Damian were bewildered by her reaction, but this was only the beginning – his mom actually started yelling at him! His own mom! She had never, ever raised her voice before, but now they had a real drama on their hands, and it was happening at Christmas! They didn’t manage to calm her down, so Damian and his siblings went to bed in tears and their parents left to go to their bedroom. Of course, he couldn’t sleep after all that, and he heard his mom and dad talking until the morning. And when morning came, something happened that still hurts Damian even to this day when he thinks about it. He saw his father packing his things and leaving, while giving him one last long, hostile look. His mom looked exhausted, and pointed at his younger siblings with her eyes, silently begging him to refrain from asking any questions at that moment. And when they started talking he could not believe what he heard. His mom told him that his father was leaving them. Forever. And that he would probably be filing for divorce soon. His Christmas surprise had forced his mother to reveal an awful secret, and now he had to know it too: Neither he, nor his brother or sister were his father’s biological children. Can you imagine how shocked he was? But he thought it would be for the better if he simply listened, in silence, to his mother’s story. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
I Answered My Dad's Phone And It Killed Our Family
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Evan and right now, everything in his life is falling apart. His family, his studies, everything...and all of it happened just because he helped his father at his work. He wishes now that he could just travel back in time or erase what he found out about him from his memory. It was hard to find anyone who didn’t admire Evan’s father. Everyone did. His mother, Evan himself, his colleagues and partners. You see, he was a rich businessman with his own company. But he started from NOTHING. So of course, it’s hard NOT to admire a man who achieved everything on his own and still managed to be a loving husband and father. And he totally wanted to be like him. Evan didn’t want to take what he had for granted; he wanted to be as hard-working as his dad was. And his parents knew this. So his mom came up with the idea of asking his dad to let him be an unpaid intern at his company during the summer, to learn the ropes. Evan loved the idea, and he thought his dad would love it too. But he turned out to be so...hesitant about it. Like, he said that he wasn’t sure if Evan would be needed there and said that he should enjoy his life while he’s still young. Anyway, he and his mom finally persuaded his dad to let him be an intern, and he worked very hard to help with everything he could. And soon, everyone at the office started to like him so much, saying how much he resembled his father with his industriousness. And he could see that his father was very proud of him. “I passed the test!” he thought to himself, and it made him work even harder. He knew that he was working for his own future. But...soon something happened. You see, his father was very strict about separating his career and his personal life. He would never talk about his work while at home, because he was fully concentrating on his family, being a perfect father and a perfect husband. One day his father went out to some meeting, and he was supposed to take Evan home that day. Evan thought he was busy, so he decided to just wait for him in his office, since it was unlocked and he had been in there many times before. While he was waiting there, the phone rang. It was in his desk drawer, so he decided to ignore it. But it kept calling again and again, like every 3 minutes, and he got tired of it, so he decided to answer and to say that his dad was away, thinking that maybe it was his mom. He opened the drawer and looked at the phone, and it was...weird. You see, his father had two phones. One was his personal phone, and the other his work phone. And this phone...well, Evan had never seen that one before. He answered the phone and a woman’s voice said: “Hey...want to come over today, darling?” He quickly turned the phone off. It wasn’t his mom. He didn’t know what to do or think, so he just left the office and never came back. His mom tried to ask him what had happened, but he just couldn’t tell her. And he knew that his father knew, but he just acted like nothing happened. That was the reason he hadn’t wanted him to work for him… From that point on Evan avoided his parents as much as he could, because it was too painful for him to see them talking to each other and smiling. And he couldn’t just tell his mom, because he had found out about it by snooping around. He started to hate his dad, and even his mom for not seeing what was happening. One day, Evan’s mom confronted him for avoiding them and spending a lot of time out of the house. She probably thought that he’d picked up bad habits or something. He tried to explain, but she was worried about him, and started to check his bags and everything else for things like cigarettes. His dad just kept silent, because he knew what was really happening and why Evan was acting that way. But he didn’t say anything, and Evan could feel his respect for him dwindling away completely. He was so angry, so one day he just said: “ask DAD what's going on.” There was silence for a long time. Then they left and went into their room, and he had to listen to them shouting at each other for the whole night. And it was his fault, of course...was it bad that they were living a lie if they were happy? Then they tried to act normal, like nothing happened, but he saw how everything had changed. After a few months, his mom said that they were getting a divorce, and she didn’t really explain, because she knew that he knew. Now they live separately, and Evan lives with his mom, and she’s very unhappy. His dad called him recently and told him that he’d done the right thing by telling her the truth. He also said that he couldn’t work normally after the divorce and that he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to keep the company. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

It would be better for everyone". If you think this was horrible enough, Jenny has even more to tell you. She felt so betrayed by her mother, and so indignant. Really, is that the right way to treat your own children? At the same time, she realized that if her mother didn’t want her, then she needed to adjust. This is how she ended up staying with her dad. He was so sad – it must be so unpleasant when a woman you love decides that she doesn’t need you anymore. And so, he started relaxing with a drink or two in the evening. "Sorry, Jenny", he said, "it just makes me feel better. Do you mind?" One of her dad's rare defects was his lack of willpower. Jenny was still very young at the time and didn’t realize this fast enough. When it began to dawn on her that he had a problem, it was too late. Two drinks became four, four became eight, then he fell asleep in the armchair and Jenny had to help him towards the bedroom. He said he felt better, he didn’t feel so useless and lonely. At the time, he seemed to be just one step away from full-blown depression, but Jenny would have preferred it if he had taken some medication rather than drink himself into unconsciousness. The real tragedy started when he decided that he'd scared Jenny too much at home with his drinking and decided he had better go out to do it instead. The fact is that social alcoholism is the worst. He found some small filthy bars, disgusting pubs, horrible dens, where he would drink with other alcoholics and talk to them about his miserable life. He would cry and ask for forgiveness, and then promise to give it up. But he just couldn’t do it. The problem was that he now spent every evening drinking, and would crawl home rather than walk. Sometimes he came in with bruises. Sometimes, he forgot to come home. In those cases, Jenny would have to take a taxi and do a pub crawl of her own, looking for him. Not a nice environment for a teenage girl. Imagine it - she had to learn how to persuade his buddies to let him go home, and she sometimes even had to bring a baseball bat with her to make herself understood. Everyone knew that Jenny was not someone to mess with. Of course, she tried to keep her spirits up, but it was hard even for a tough person like her. She felt so sad and lonely, and every day those feelings grew. One day, she went into a bar to fetch her dad, and there was an enormous guy who claimed that her dad hadn’t paid. He was nearly senseless. Jenny doesn’t remember exactly how she managed to get out of there, but she brought her dad home feeling absolutely desperate. She didn’t have any hope left, and thought that she was doomed to spend the next few years searching for her drunk dad every night. It was a dead end. The next day she wanted to tell her dad that she had to leave him and go to her mom, or elsewhere - she just couldn’t take it anymore. She was crying, and her dad was looking at her with a horrified expression on his face – he had never seen her cry. This was the turning point, when he realized that he couldn’t do it anymore – to himself, but above all to his daughter. It was the first time she saw that her dad had willpower after all. The same day he went to his first AA session. The next day was Jenny's 15th birthday, and she decided to stay with her dad for some time to see if he could remain sober. It turned out that life is beautiful even without drinking. He repeats this every day, and constantly apologizes for those hellish three years. But Jenny's not offended, because she managed to learn a useful lesson even from that horror. Now, she's a wrestler, and quite a talented one – they say that she has the character of a warrior. She knows exactly which bars she got it from. Her dad comes to support her at all her competitions - straight from his AA meetings, absolutely clean. And she now knows that even if the situation is worse than you could ever imagine, there is always hope. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

My Mom Is A Control Freak, And I Can’t Stand It Any Longer
SUBSCRIBE If you like my channel: ► https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Stan. Do you know that phrase, “big brother is watching you”? In his case, it’s “big mother is watching you”. Sounds creepy, eh? We all want to grow up, but for Stan, growing up was really urgent, because his mom was a control freak who needed to check every one of his steps. Until he started going to school, Stan didn’t even notice something was wrong with his life. His mom brought him up alone, and of course she loved him so much, always defending him from everything and being by his side. That’s normal for a toddler. But school is a time to learn to be independent, starting with small steps. He remembers his first day – you know how it often happens that kids start crying when separated from their parents for the first time? Well, there were tears - but this time, it was Stan’s mom crying, saying, “Please don’t go!”. Gosh, that was embarrassing. And from then on, his mom wanted to control every step of his life. Every day she came to take him home from school, but they didn’t drive home straightaway. She went to his teachers and asked for a daily update on his progress. It was really tiring for them. But they were very understanding for a couple of months – you know, a single mom, the only child. But eventually, they asked her to stop it. However, she still took every chance to control him. He would do his homework as they drove home, and she always stood in his bedroom watching him as he finished it off. Stan’s room didn’t even have a door, for God’s sake! When he wanted to go for a walk with the kids from the neighborhood, she would say, “I’ll come with you, but I won’t bother you, don’t worry.” And she just stayed there watching them from a distance! Needless to say, he didn’t have many friends. No one wants to be observed all the time. While he was growing up, Stan realized that this was not a case of normal parental concern. He asked his mom why he needed to be constantly observed and couldn’t get at least a bit of privacy. She answered: “Why, do you have secrets from your mommy?” The worst part was that now that he was in his early teens, Stan had his social media accounts, his smartphone, his blog. He wanted to keep them secret, but his mom managed to find them all, get the passwords and control the chats. It was so frustrating when he came home and she would start discussing the conversation he’d had yesterday with someone. He tried to rebel against it, to change the passwords and get himself a freaking door for his room, but these efforts ended with his mom being in hysterics on how dangerous the world is, that it’s full of criminals and pedophiles, and that when he grew up he would understand her. When he turned 14, the time came for drastic action. He understood that it was impossible to reason with his mom and to convince her to finally get a life. So Stan changed his tactics. He had to develop a secret life of his own, because otherwise he would have no social connections apart from his mom. For several months, it went fine; his mom was sure he was leading a perfect home-school-home life, and he was now enjoying his social life almost like any other teen. But one day, a catastrophe happened. He left his secret smartphone at home, and while he was out his mom found it, unblocked it and read everything he had there. You can’t imagine how this made him feel when he came back home. It was at that point that his mom had a sort of emotional breakdown, having seen that he had slipped out of her control. That time, Stan was grounded for good. His mom told him to stay in his room, and he couldn’t leave it even to go to the kitchen. It seems that she didn’t realize the situation had became totally crazy and very dangerous, and she was behaving like some kind of maniac. Stan understood that he had to do something. The time came to stop the rebellion and to behave like an adult. He thought about a possible solution (he had a lot of free time to think) and went to his mom to convince her to go to a family psychologist. Of course, first she said no. But he insisted, because he didn’t see any other solution, and also because this was the only way for him to leave the house. After all, she had to agree just to shut him up. It turned out that therapy was the thing that they both needed badly. His mom was reluctant, but within the first half hour she was already opening up to the doctor. Stan also had issues, but they were more a reaction to his mom’s actions. When they returned home, his mom told him all of a sudden that he was going to go back to school, and that he was even going to have a door for his room. Wow! That’s what you call a therapeutic effect. The problem is that he was not sure what was happening in her head, because now she was giving him liberty with the same enthusiasm that she had when she had kept him locked up. All he wants to do now is grow up ASAP. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
I Became Addicted To Cigarettes And Got Dumped By A Girl
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, this is Dan. He wants to tell you a story about how he started smoking – and why he will never, ever do it again. There are lots of people who have tried smoking once out of curiosity and never do it again. Many of you have probably done so as well. There’s nothing bad about it, because as they say it’s worth trying anything that’s legal so long as it doesn’t become an obsession. In many cases, people try cigarettes, alcohol or other substances when they’re with their peers, so that they can publicly prove just how cool they are. Well...This is exactly what happened to Dan. He was friends with a group of kids from his neighborhood. They grew up together – and that’s why they shared everything with each other. He remembers the day that one of his buddies bought a pack of cigarettes. They were like, “Oh no dude, that’s illegal! What if anyone sees us?! Where did you get them?” Dan’s friend said that he had stolen them from his older brother. He said that they needed to find out what all the hype was about. So each of them took a cigarette from the pack and gave it a try. Then something strange happened. Everyone around was coughing their lungs out...while Dan was calmly inhaling and experiencing this pleasant feeling inside him. He didn’t understand whether it was him who did something wrong or his friends, because he seemed to be the only one enjoying the experience. With tears in their eyes, they heroically finished their cigarettes and threw them away. The common conclusion was that it was gross, it felt horrible, it stank, and all in all...never ever again. Dan was the only one who disagreed, so they gave him the pack with the remaining cigarettes. They made him promise that he would never smoke around them. From the very beginning, Dan became addicted both to nicotine and to the process of smoking itself. He felt so cool when he was standing somewhere with a cigarette between his fingers, watching everyone arrogantly like some Hollywood star from the 1960s. Of course he made sure there were no adults around, otherwise he would have gotten himself into big trouble. He tried to use any convenient moment to smoke a cig or two, and didn’t notice that before too long he had become a chain smoker. Dan didn’t even take the time to stop and think about how it was unhealthy or dangerous – he just enjoyed it so much! But inevitably, he couldn’t avoid experiencing some problems. First of all, he was underage, so it was a pain to try and get the cigarettes every time. He had to find some older guys every time and ask them to do him a favor – and obviously he didn’t get that for free. Then there was the money. Cigarettes are expensive, and as with all teenagers, Dan never had enough money. And the hardest part was having to hide his habit from his parents. This involved trying hard to get rid of the smell. Mints became Dan’s best friends, but they didn’t help much. He was constantly paranoid that his parents suspected something. But when he smoked, he enjoyed it a lot and forgot about all his difficulties. At some point however, he began to think that maybe he should cut it out. But he just didn't have the willpower – and more importantly, the desire – to quit. Dan remembers very clearly what really did make him quit once and for all though. He fell madly in love with a girl called Ann. She seemed to like Dan a lot as well. They went on a couple of dates, and he made sure not to smoke in order not to put her off. But on their third date he thought it was time to come out with it. With his best James Dean look, he came up to her with a cigarette in the corner of his mouth. He was sure he looked ultra-cool, but then he saw her disapproving look, although she didn’t actually say anything. Ok, he thought, I’ll just throw the cigarette away. They had been walking along for some time when he thought it would be a good idea to give her a kiss. She didn’t seem to hate the idea. So that’s what he did, but then something strange happened. She pushed him away and started spitting, saying “Ewwww, that’s disgusting!” Well, she didn’t appreciate the smell of cigarettes, and unfortunately that was the end of his first love story. Dan was really shocked and embarrassed. He was also scared that she would reveal the shameful story to her friends, and everyone would find out about that pathetic first kiss. But in the end things turned out for the better. She didn’t tell anyone, and Dan’s thankful to her for that. And for him it was as good an incentive as any to quit smoking, because being humiliated this way was something he didn’t want to experience again. At the risk of saying the obvious, smoking is a dubious pleasure that isn’t worth all the suffering that comes with it. Dan now knows that for sure now. My Gf Was Covered In Bruises. Her Parents Weren't Supposed To Know Why!
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, I'm Daniel. I wanna tell you a story of how I was accused of beating my girlfriend. I had been dating Dinah for a couple of months and everything was great, except for her parents. The first time I met them her father tried to strangle me for kissing her. I didn't blame him because I've always looked much older and it was easy to mistake me for an adult. I even had to show him my school ID to prove that I was only 16. She said they were just being protective but one time they went overboard with their "protection." So, everything started with us wanting to go to a concert. Obviously, her parents wouldn't let her go and I told her that it was fine, we would just watch the live stream on the net. But she called me a ""quitter"" and said that she had already bought tickets anyway and if I wanted I could stay home like a wet blanket. So, of course, I went. I lied and swore to her parents that I was taking her to the theater and like a good boyfriend I would return her home safely. At the concert, we were having a great time when suddenly Dinah got dragged into the mosh pit. I ran after her and pulled her out of it, but she still got pushed around by the crowd. She seemed to enjoy it too much and I had to stop her from rushing right back. Don't get me wrong, she's very tough and fierce for someone who's only 5 feet tall. But people had already thrown her around like a ball and I didn't want to risk her getting hurt. On our way home though I noticed that she was covered in bruises. Most were tiny, but one that was forming on her ribs promised to be huge. She started to freak out saying that if her parents noticed something, they would kill her, me, and probably the band, just for good measure. So I gave her my hoodie to cover the damage and then walked her home. Later that night she texted me that everything was fine. But when she didn't call me the next day, I started to worry. Days went by and I couldn't reach her. She wasn't answering my calls or reading my messages. And I left dozens of them. I didn't know whether we screwed up big time or if she was just mad at me for something. I honestly hoped I was the problem and her parents didn't find out we went to the concert. There was only one way to know though, so I went to ask her what was going on face to face. I even brought flowers. I figured that I would give them to either Dinah or to her mom depending on who was mad at who. Also, it couldn't hurt to show them what a considerate young man I was. When I finally got to Dinah's house I was met by her furious father who, for some reason, had a shovel in his hands. He started calling me names and threatening to bury me alive in his backyard if I ever went near Dinah again. I didn't get why I was receiving such a warm welcome from him and said I didn't know what he was talking about. He then asked me how Dinah got all those bruises on her body. I had never been a smooth talker but this time I just overdid myself at being a useless liar. I couldn't come up with anything believable, so I just said she slipped down the stairs. Not surprisingly, he didn't believe me and tried to threaten me again, this time promising to rip my head off, so I figured now was the perfect time to retreat. SUBSCRIBE OUR CHANNEL: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Scott, and today he wants to talk about karma. Karma is a mysterious thing; we’ve all heard about it, but we rarely get proof that it exists. But on one unique day of his life, Scott experienced it, and he wants to share this story with you. Scott comes from a family that isn’t particularly wealthy. His mom is single, and these are three of her kids. She’s always worked day and night to keep them dressed and fed, and her children tried their best to help her. What could they really do, though? Cleaning and cooking while she was out earning a living was really not a big deal. So Scott was relieved when he grew up a bit. Literally the next day, he started looking for a part-time job which he would be able to combine with school. Finally, he would be able to add at least something to the family budget. His magic adventures in the world of work started, of course, in a fast food restaurant (where else?) Scott still remembers the day when he became a proud employee of “Dodo’s Pizza”. In his brand new visor hat and horrible oversized uniform jeans, he looked like a real chump, but he was proud of himself nevertheless. He remembered when he was a few years younger how much of an idiot he had been, always mocking guys like that in fast food restaurants thinking that they were pathetic. Even better, he was a hero of telephone pranks – he would call up various fast food restaurants and drive them mad. Now he was on the other side and was slightly ashamed of himself. Well, let bygones be bygones, and thank God I’ve grown up, he thought to himself. He slowly started learning how to earn his weekly pay. First has was given the task of mopping the floors and cleaning the toilets. Then he gradually started giving a helping hand in the kitchen. Then one day, Scott reached the ultimate position – the cash register and the phone to take the pizza orders. If they had appointed him a CEO of the whole company he still couldn’t have been prouder of himself than that. It seems silly, but this work carries a certain responsibility with it, and he was sure he could deliver. He made the first bill two days before THE KARMA DAY and he needed time to get some practice. But unfortunately, he didn’t get it. That day one girl from Scott’s shift got sick and had to go home, and the manager didn’t manage to find a substitute. In accordance with Murphy’s law, that day was extremely busy – it seemed like the whole city had suddenly decided they wanted a pizza or two. The kitchen guys were all super-busy and didn’t want a newbie by their side, so he was sent to take the orders and the money. With all these people waiting in a line he got super-nervous, and he was also scared of making a mistake. So he was working pretty slowly. The fact that the phone was constantly ringing didn’t help either. Feeling absolutely desperate, he answered another call and heard the words: “Is your refrigerator running?” Scott was confused, and just said “Yes, why?” “Well then you gotta go and catch it!” A roar of laughter and they hung up. Gosh, couldn’t this have happened on another day? Okay Universe, I have learned the lesson, he thought. Can I get on with some work now? He realized now that it’s not nice to prank people when they’re working, especially on their busy day. And here goes karma moment #1. He sweated through another hour when he got another call from the same kid, who said to him: “Hello, sorry for bothering you, could you tell me where the nearest Pizza Hunt is?” Laughter again and he hung up. Scott was now feeling really mad. He remembered the number from the identifier. He noticed that the kid called a couple of times again later on, but he didn’t answer. He was soooo tired by the end of the day but he was still feeling furious, so he took the time to call that number back. A man answered. “Excuse me, do you have a son?” The main confirmed that he did. Scott explained the whole situation to him expecting that he would laugh at him or just end the call. He just asked Scott where I was, asked him not to leave for another half an hour, and hung up. Scott still had work to do, but he felt a bit worried – who knows what he wanted to do to him, a simple cashier boy. But okay, he would wait. Half an hour later, there was a hell of a scene – Scott and his team. A big angry man brought up a naughty looking teenager right by his ear in front of him and roared: “APOLOGIZE!” He gulped nervously and asked “Who, me?” “No, that imbecile of my son! Apologize for distracting decent people from working!” The boy squeaked something and Scott even felt a bit sorry for him. But he has to say that in a way, he enjoyed this karma #2 moment. His dad turned out to be a really cool guy. He ordered five pizzas and left him a 35-dollar tip as an apology, which Scott was super-glad to bring home to his mom. Next time you want to make someone’s life inconvenient, think twice, because KARMA EXISTS.
My Father Left Us... And Returned After 5 Years
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, this is Julia, and her father left her family when she was ten...and returned five years later. How and why did it happen? It’s hard to understand it even now. But she’s going to explain it as best she can. As you can imagine given what happened, her parents’ relationship was always...difficult. Julia still remembers how, when she was a ten-year-old girl, they would argue all the time and she didn’t really understand why, because she was just a kid. But then one day, her father was just gone...he just left us and went somewhere else. She doesn’t know why, but at the time she was sure it was her fault, and for a time she cried constantly, especially when she realized he wasn’t coming back. She was angry at her mom too, but of course it wasn’t her fault. She always has been (and still is) a hard-working woman, and after her father left them, she worked two jobs just to keep them warm and fed. Five years have passed since then, and Julia had gotten used to the fact that her father wasn’t coming back. But you know, by this point things were alright. She had a good relationship with her mom. And, well...a guy from her school named Dennis had become very interested in her, and she liked his attention and liked him, although she was still a little bit scared to start dating. Basically their life had become very stable, but then one day her mom told her that her father called her and that he wanted to come over. Julia was shocked, and her mom said that if she didn’t want it to happen, they could just say “no.” But deep down, she did want to see, him and she wanted for everything to go back to normal. It was funny that even after five years she still sensed that something was NOT normal. After a few days, he showed up. It was so...weird seeing him after so many years. He was a little bit fatter and a little bit balder, but he was still her father. It was surreal! They sat down in the living room and he started to talk. He said that he had been in a very bad place when he left us. He had had problems at work and felt that he wasn’t helping them, and he’d therefore started to drink; all he’d wanted to do was run away from his problems and responsibilities. But now he wanted to come back. He wanted to correct his mistakes and promised to be a good father to Julia. Her mom really didn’t want to take him back, but Julia was so happy and she wanted to give him a second chance. So they came to an arrangement that he would live in a hotel for a few weeks and if everything went well, he would move back into their house. She was sooo happy! Her dad was actively looking for a job, and he was there every day, helping around the house, repairing stuff, even cleaning. He was a little bit reluctant to talk about the previous (what he called “dark”) five years, but he said he was not proud of whom he’d been before. He said that the worst thing about it was missing seeing Julia grow up. Even her mom started to soften up towards him a little bit. Julia was feeling so happy and confident; it seemed that her life had become so much better. In fact, she even started dating Dennis. She knew that this was a good time for it because everything in her life had started going smoothly. Basically, she stopped being scared of relationships like she was before. And Dennis was wonderful! A month or so passed, and then everything...changed. Her dad still couldn’t find a new job, and he almost stopped helping at home. He mostly watched TV and drank beer, and if her mom tried to talk some sense into him, he would get very annoyed and angry, and would say that he had tried very hard and that they should appreciate his efforts. Julia was on his side and told her mom that she shouldn’t be so mean to him. But then she came to her senses after one very awkward evening. She finally decided that it was time for Dennis to meet her parents, so they planned for him to come for dinner. At first everything went very smoothly; her mom really liked him, and well, there was a lot to like – he was a very smart and well-groomed guy. He was the opposite of her dad, in a way...and her dad noticed it. He started to make fun of Dennis, saying, “His hands are too soft, boys were different back in my day.” And he continued to make these awkward “jokes” until her mom politely said to him that it was time to stop saying those things, AND to stop drinking. Her father then got really angry at her, saying how she had ruined his life and...a lot of other really unpleasant stuff. Up to that point, Dennis had been very quiet, but when her father started to say stuff about Julia’s mom, he interrupted him and said that it was not very nice and he should stop Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
My First Period Turned Into A Nightmare
SUBSCRIBE If you like my channel: ► https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Emma, and this is the most shameful story of her life so far. A lot of girls will be able to relate to this story, as it’s about her first period. When she thinks about it now, she laughs – but at the time, she was absolutely sure that her life was over. Please don’t laugh at her! Emma comes from a very religious family, and her parents were never keen on talking about physiological stuff. Her mom loved her a lot, of course, but it seems she was terrified that at some point she would need to talk to her daughter about periods and sex (she probably gets goose bumps even pronouncing the word) and all things like that. Emma turned 11 convinced that children come from nowhere and just materialize in women’s bellies. All in all, she never pondered the concept of puberty or her changing body. One morning when she woke up and went to the bathroom, she saw some strange brown stains DOWN THERE. She had no idea what they could be and became scared. Her first thought was that she needed to ask for help from her parents. But the idea of coming out of the bathroom, going to her mom and trying to explain what had happened to her – including saying the word for her intimate parts – was just too embarrassing. Asking for her dad’s help wasn’t even an option, and she had no siblings to consult. So despite being really scared, she decided to wait and see if the problem would disappear on its own. Emma went to school, but she couldn’t really concentrate on her studies. She just sat focusing on her body and trying to understand how grave her condition was. It didn’t occur to her to ask for advice from her classmates – it was still too shameful to mention WHERE the stains were coming from. A couple of times, she went to the toilet and saw new brown stains. She didn’t feel sick though, so she thought that she should wait for some time before panicking. Then in the evening came the pain. That awful dull nagging pain every girl knows. Now, she thought, it’s time to panic. She sat down at her computer and boldly searched for “stomach pain with blood”. At the age of 11, she wasn’t very knowledgeable about anatomy, and was sure that the stomach was somewhere in the belly. As you can imagine, “an ulcer” was the most optimistic result she got. So now she knew she was going to die, but asking for help still seemed too shameful. So Emma decided to sleep on it...but obviously, that night she didn’t get any sleep. Emma went to school the next day feeling all nervous and panicky, because that morning when she had checked she still had new brown stains on her underwear. Her condition didn’t get worse though, and she ended up being distracted by her classes after all. Until the moment in her math class when she felt something wet, and ran to the bathroom. She discovered a Niagara Falls of flaming red blood. She nearly fainted, her hands trembled, and she sobbed hysterically. So she ran to the school nurse’s office and explained that she was bleeding, that she had an ulcer, and was going to die! By that point she was no longer ashamed to share her problem with anyone. At first, the nurse seemed really worried. But then as she asked Emma in detail what was bothering her, and she seemed visibly relieved. “I don’t want to disappoint you, but you’re not going to die – you’re just having your first period.” Her first...what? “A period. Don’t you know what a period is?” She was quite surprised by her ignorance, but explained patiently what it was and how to deal with it, and also gave her some pads to start off with and explained how to use them. Obviously, the news that she was not going to die made Liz very happy. But as she was about to leave, she asked Liz if she could ask her mom to come in for a private talk. After giving her mom the news about her first period and seeing that she was embarrassed, she passed on the message from the school nurse. She had no idea what they were going to talk about, and was just so happy to know that she was healthy again. Only several years later, when her mother told her about sex, and was visibly uneasy about doing so, she confessed that the nurse had told her that explaining these things was crucial for teens, and that she insisted that her mom would have to overcome her embarrassment and find a way to explain these important things to her daughter. Emma feels very grateful to that nurse, as now she understands that there’s nothing shameful about her body, and if we have important questions that we need to ask, we shouldn’t keep them to ourselves. And also, it’s always better when parents answer our questions rather than someone else who doesn’t know us as well as they do. Let us know in the comments if your first period was also embarrassing, and share this story with other girls so that they know there’s nothing to be afraid of about periods. My name is Jonah, I’m fifteen and here’s my story. I think I already know what to expect in the comments, so first of all – yes, I made some mistakes while all of this was happening. I can’t deny that. I live with my mom, and it has been like this for a couple of years, since my parents divorced. My dad moved to a place that his parents left him about 50 miles away from us. And I have always been fine with that – not that I love mom more, it just seemed to be the best option for everyone. My mom had a hard time with this psychologically at first, being really really overprotective and controlling me too much, but over time it got better. She still needs to know where I am during the day, and I'm OK with that, it’s way better than what we had before. It's sort of a compromise. But she still gets nervous if I forget about my phone for a while or change my plans. I know this is not normal for a parent, but, first – we are working on it, and second – I’ve heard about cases that are much worse than this. So this story began with a lie. I told my mom I’d be at school for the afternoon working on a school project with a couple of guys and our science teacher. But the real plan was to hang out with two of my friends at a shopping mall, like, to see a movie and so on. Yeah, I lied, since my mom thinks that hanging out like this is wasting time, and I had gotten kinda tired of these conversations. That day I forgot to charge my phone during the night. I thought I plugged it in, while I actually didn’t. Then when we were at the movies, the phone battery died. I noticed it, but I thought it would be fine, since mom thought I was doing research at school in perfect safety. After the movie we went grab a bite to eat . Meanwhile, my mom was already panicking. She texted me first, then she called, and I didn’t answer… After about an hour my mom had called our science teacher, who obviously didn’t know anything about “the project.” Then we stopped at my friend’s house, and I still didn’t bother to charge my phone… I sat down on his comfortable couch and… fell asleep. And I ended up sleeping for FOUR HOURS. So when I came home it was already dark and really late. I was expecting a disaster. My mom was in the kitchen crying, probably thinking I was dead. She must have been happy I came home, but she didn’t look like it. It WAS a disaster. And she wasn't even angry about me coming home late (well, not about at that), but at the fact that I lied about where I would be. “I can’t trust you anymore!” was a phrase she repeated probably a hundred times during that argument. After a few days the whole thing seemed to have been forgotten. And my mom didn’t even try as hard to control me as she used to! Like, she would even call less often during the day and I was totally fine with that. I was surprised, but I thought my mom was so shocked that night that it had a positive effect on her. So about two weeks after the incident, I was at school and during class I reached for my backpack to get an extra pen. My backpack has this huge pocket where I put a lot of useless stuff and I rarely open it. It’s a total mess and it’s hard to find anything in it right away. So, I’m looking for the pen that’s supposed to be there and I come across a small plastic device I’ve never seen before. And I had no idea why it was there. I googled the words and digits on the device and found out it was a GPS tracking unit. I was furious. This was just unthinkable. My mom was spying on me! My Family Got Robbed Because I Posted Too Much!
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is April. She has a story and a warning for you. Her story is a very typical one. She adores using social media, and sometimes exaggerates. Her warning is that when you exaggerate on social media, it can lead to unexpected and unpleasant results. This is what happened to her. When she started studying at a new high school, she found lots of new friends all at once. April is a very sociable person and she’s always had lots of friends in real life, so before she turned 14 or 15 she never even bothered updating her social media profiles more than once a month. What is the sense of writing something and sharing it with the same people you already see every day? It’s quicker to talk about it in person. However, at her new school everyone was very active on their smartphones, whether it was taking pictures and selfies, exchanging messages, updating their profiles every hour, liking things, or commenting all day long. She set up some more social media accounts and started posting something every day. First it was pretty irritating, because she didn’t feel like sharing her personal information online. But April isn’t going to tell you horror stories about how addiction to social media ruined her life. It’s not true. It’s a part of her life, but it’s not the only thing. She understands that this kind of attention seeking is not normal, but on the other hand, it doesn’t actually ruin your health, and maybe it’s just part of a fight against insecurities. But there is the other side of the coin to consider, which is the thing you’ve all heard about and probably find boring and think that adults overreact about. That thing is online security. What dangerous info could you find in the profile of a 15-year-old girl? April didn’t even think about how much personal information might be found on her social media profiles. She thought that if you don’t put your real name or home address or phone number in your posts, you’re totally anonymous. WRONG. Actually there have always been online Sherlocks who can find all your personal data using just the stupid selfies you post every day. The worst thing is that this information can be used against you and your relatives, and cause you a lot of trouble. One day, April’s parents told her some marvellous news. In the summer they were going to Paris. Paris, can you imagine! The Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse, Mona Lisa! Brilliant! The only thing her dad asked her to do was to not tell anyone the exact dates of their trip, because as he explained it was going to involve quite a long absence from home, and it could be risky to inform the whole world that they were leaving. She agreed, but…well, who cares! Try keeping this kind information from your best friends when they ask you about it! And so, soon afterwards, it was no longer a secret anymore. And a trip to Paris was such a good reason to boast and get envious comments! April started taking pictures of every step of her preparations – from the new clothes she bought to packing her suitcase and the tickets she had printed out (obviously with names and a departure date). Everything was posted online and approved by likes. She made a record of herself checking in at the airport, took pictures of the plane and the clouds from above, and tagged herself at Charles de Gaulle airport. For the next two weeks, she reported on her every step. She even posted pictures of the food she ate every day! Her improvised travel blog garnered lots of success, and for her it was a moment of glory. But you pay for every wrong step you take. After doing her last tag at the airport before flying home, she considered her job done, and relaxed. She was calm until they came home...and found their house half-empty. They had been burgled while they were away! While her dad was calling the police, all panicky, April checked her belongings and found out that they had taken everything valuable, even her 20-bucks stash. Horrible! The police came at once and checked the crime scene. She of course took a picture of the cops carrying out their investigation in her house – can you imagine what a story it would be online?! They found certain indications that it was a well-known gang that specialized in burglaries while families were on vacation. The policeman claimed that as far as they knew, the gang members collected information on their victims through their social media accounts. “That can’t be right!” Her dad was incredulous. “None of us posted anything online about the trip! We were very careful!” Oops…April made a face that her dad noticed at once. “April, would you give me your phone?” What else could she have done? Here you go, dad! While he was browsing her social media apps his face turned red, pale, and then red again. And during this time she tried to become invisible – without any success. I Had A Fake Boyfriend But My Friends Found It Out
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Lily, and she has something to confess: she lived a lie for several months. By the time she turned 16, all of her friends already had boyfriends. This was all they talked about – boyfriend “this” and boyfriend “that”, blah blah blah. She was the only one without a boyfriend, and they sometimes made fun of her for that, and so she felt like a total loser compared to them. One day, they asked her yet again, “hey Lily, you still don’t have a boyfriend?” And she then did something very stupid. She should have said “no, I don’t”, but instead, she said “yeah, I do, he’s great!” That was a big mistake, because they immediately started to ask questions: “what’s his name? What’s he like? Is he cute?” She had to improvise, so she came up with an answer on the spot: “uhhh, he’s called Dan. He’s...very nice, he’s into, um, hockey…” God, it was so embarrassing! But suddenly...they all changed their attitude towards her. They stopped mocking her and no longer acted like she was the least cool girl of the group. Finally! The next day, when they started discussing their boyfriends again, she realized that they would eventually ask her about “Dan” as well, so she had to lie again and talk about how they had gone to a concert – and of course, they asked her what concert and a thousand other questions. After this, Lily started to plan everything in advance, like where she and Dan were the previous evening, what he was like and how their relationship was progressing. In a weird way, Dan felt like a real person! Soon, just talking about “Dan” wasn’t enough. Her friends asked her to show them his photos, messages, and other stuff like that. So she had to find pictures of some cute guy online and make social media profiles. Of course, she made all the accounts private so they couldn’t check his profile. Lily spent a lot of time writing messages to herself from Dan to make him seem real. At some point, the girls even got a little bit jealous because Dan was so much better than their boyfriends. They would say things like, “I wish my boyfriend were a bit more like Dan”. Of course, because there was no Dan! Next, they started to ask her a real tough question: “how come you don’t have any pictures together with Dan?” So guess what she had to do? If you guessed “Photoshop pictures of Lily and Dan together”, then you’re right! She spent hours and hours trying to learn Photoshop just to make believable photos of her and Dan. When her friends decided to go somewhere to hang out, she had to decline, because she was “with Dan” – while in reality she was trying to make those stupid fake photos. At some point, even photos were no longer enough. Her friends seemed to become suspicious; they asked why they had never seen Dan. She had to lie again, saying something about him living far away, so it was tricky for them to see each other. But now they knew something was wrong, because earlier she had often said to them that they met every day. It HAD to stop! She couldn’t tell them the truth, so instead she started to plan...their break-up! But what could her perfect Dan do that would lead them to break up? After thoroughly thinking through the options, she came up with the story that Dan had cheated on her with another girl. She hoped that this would not only put an end to the constant lies, but also make the girls feel sorry for her. The next day, she told the girls her sob story about how Dan had secretly been dating another girl all this time, and that was why he was so perfect all the time – he felt guilty. She expected her friends to comfort her, but instead...they started to laugh. It turned out that they knew that she had been lying for a few weeks already. They noticed that she was was logged in from Dan’s Facebook, but decided to keep silent to see how far she would go. She was so embarrassed that she ran away and tried to keep out of sight for a few days. After some time had passed, she apologized for lying and asked if they could still be friends. They said yes, but of course they now made fun of her and “Dan” every day. Lily decided that she would NEVER lie to her friends again. The worst part of it all was that she could have spent the time searching for an actual boyfriend instead of spending hours on an imaginary one. If there is one good thing to come out of it all, it’s that she’s now pretty good at Photoshop. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Emily, and recently her life has started to resemble a TV series. Let’s start from the very beginning. Throughout the 16 years of her life, Emily felt pretty different from both of her parents. She was never like anyone in their family, in fact; not in the way she looked, or even in the way she behaved. For example, both of her parents were really good at sports. Her mom used to be a cheerleader in college, so she’s very muscular and skinny, while her dad has always been good at all kinds of ball games, especially basketball and tennis. But you could hardly call Emily an athlete. She’s not even good at running, and she usually ends up trying to skip her PE classes all the time. At first her parents were worried about this, and even took her to the doctor, but he said that she was completely healthy and normal; she just wasn’t made to become an athlete. As for Emily herself, she hates everything connected with physical activity. She would rather read books or draw something. And she’s really good at natural sciences. This is actually what calms her down and helps her relax. “That’s hardly anything serious,” you’d probably say, but she had always felt pretty uncomfortable when the whole family gathered together and played, let's say, football. She’d just sit somewhere under the trees and sketch another family portrait. This made her feel different from everybody else. And she didn’t look like anyone in her family either. They've all got brown hair, and have blue eyes and dark skin. When her mom gets a tan, she looks like a real goddess. Whereas Emily is a chubby blonde with grey eyes, and any extra sun makes her pasty white skin as red as a tomato. She does love her family though, and she knows that they love her just as much, but there are some times when she feels like she’s in the wrong place. Although the chances are that many of you have felt the same way at least a few times in your life. She found out what was wrong with her through a letter they once got in the mail. That day, she was home alone when the mailman came and brought a letter from the local hospital addressed to her mom. Emily wouldn’t normally have read anyone else’s correspondence, but this letter for some reason made her feel nervous. She thought “What if mom has a serious illness and they just don't want me to find out about it?” That’s why she decided to carefully open up the envelope, so that no one would notice she’d actually done it. The information inside sent her into shock. The letter said that 16 years ago, on the night she was born, the fire alarm went off suddenly at the hospital and that incident made the nurse on duty panic and switch two babies – her and another girl. At first she was scared to confess this because she thought she might lose her job. But now this woman was terminally ill and was going to pass away soon, so she decided to confess her mistake. Reading all that made her almost physically ill. It turned out that Emily’s parents were actually not her parents, and this fact explained why she had always been the black sheep in the family. She just sat there reading and re-reading the letter over and over again and didn’t even notice that her parents had come home. When she saw them she couldn’t do anything except burst into tears and run to her room. She didn’t know how to react or what to say, and was just lying on her bed when her parents knocked at her door. They looked totally dispirited and were clearly worried about her. Her dad kept silent just like her, while her mom tried to find the right words to say. She said that this horrible mistake wouldn’t change anything in their relationship; that she always was and forever would be their beloved daughter, and that she would be the only one to decide whether she wanted to meet the other family or not. She felt frightened and depressed about that letter, but when her parents hugged her Emily realized that she loved them more than anything in the world. That night was torturous for everyone. Emily couldn’t sleep at all. A few times she heard her mom crying in the bathroom and noticed that her dad went outside to smoke, when he had been a non-smoker for as long as she could remember. Recently, she made her decision – she wanted to contact her biological parents. Their address was also included in the letter and her dad called them. It turned out that they had also received the same letter and were about to contact Emily’s family. They decided to meet at a café. You know, she immediately recognized the other “Emily” right from the moment she first saw her. She looked just like her mom... I Lost Everyone I Loved But I Still Love My Life
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Katrina. What she’d like to share with you is not strictly speaking a story – it’s more of a feeling. She can’t explain why, but she’s had the urge to share it for a while. Katrina…loves her life. Her mom left her when she was 11. It seems that she was never happy living with Katrina and her dad; she just got too tired. As far as Katrina can remember, they didn’t got on very well, since her mom would get mad and yell at her almost every other day. The last time they spoke on the phone (which has happened only a few times over the past few years), she seemed pretty happy with her life, alone, hundreds of miles away from them, and she didn't seem all that willing to keep in touch. But…the fact that she’s happy makes Katrina happy. Her dad is an amazing person who has done so much for her over the years. He had a hard time getting out of bed for a while after her mom left, and he still gets sad from time to time. She tries to help him with whatever she can. Thankfully, he’s been seeing a therapist for a while now, and it seems that he’s getting much better. Her dad likes to say that in his darkest moments, Katrina was a source of optimism and energy for him. A few months after her mom left, as Katrina and her dad were slowly getting back into a normal mode of life, they lost their house. They’re both still not sure how it actually happened. It was about 3 in the morning when the fire started somewhere in the kitchen, and her dad was there. He had stayed up really late that night. But he's never been able to recall why the fire started, and Katrina didn’t press him for details. She’s just glad they both made it out alive that night. When her dad noticed the house was on fire, he ran upstairs to wake her up. He was determined to carry her out of the house in his arms. But she told him that she could get herself out of the house, since the way to the exit was pretty clear, and her dad ought to go get their cat Jesse. He ran to the bedroom to get him, while she ran down and out of the door. She wasn’t panicking at all, but she was really nervous, of course, so as she was running down the stairs, she slipped and fell down. She got up immediately and ran outside, not feeling any pain – and later she would learn that she had in fact broken her right leg and heavily twisted her left ankle. But at the time she just stood by the porch, praying that her dad would be okay. Finally, her dad ran outside with Jesse in his arms, who was frightened to death, and some papers and valuables in his hand. The firemen came as soon as they could, but they couldn’t save the house. It burned down really quickly. Katrina cried…with happiness, because her dad was fine and Jesse was alive too. And as the adrenaline stopped pumping and she started to relax a little, she started to feel severe pain in both her legs. She spent the next few weeks in hospital – she almost couldn’t walk – while her dad lived in a motel and spending as much time with her as he could. While she was in hospital, the doctors performed some tests on her and found a congenital heart defect. They said that it was somehow overlooked when she was a child. She doesn’t really want to get into the details of that, but she was told it could strike at any moment, day or night. It also could not be treated right away, so for two months she felt like her life was up in the air. She started having panic attacks and feeling really anxious, but eventually she suddenly had the thought: if I couldn’t do anything about it, then I guess I should just get on with my life. Two months after that, she had an operation, and everything went well. When she could walk again after the fire, they moved in with her dad’s parents in the neighboring city, since their burned down house needed a lot of work. Her grandma Anne was so nice to them, and she’s also a very cheerful person. Well, she was. They got really close over the year they lived with them. Anne died four months ago, and her dad has had a hard time dealing with it, but she’s really proud of him. Three days ago they moved back into their house, and it feels even better than it did before. And her dad seems happy with it, too. This feeling that Katrina’s been having over the last few months is just that – she loves her life. Everything that’s happened has been part of a learning experience, and she feels lucky to have known her mom, to have known Anne, and to have her dad by her side. And, of course, at times she has felt sad and anxious and even desperate, but she always knew that it wouldn’t last forever. And even when she felt that way, she knew there were still so many things to be grateful to the world for. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
I Have A Brother I Didn't Know About
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, this is Valerie, and she’s always dreamed of having a brother or a sister. And one day her wish came true...but not in the way she wanted or expected it to. Her family had always been a happy one – her beautiful mom, who was always busy with some new hobby or interest, her calm and even sometimes overly conventional dad, and her! But then everything changed, and she learned that her dad wasn’t...that conventional. One day she got a message from some guy called Jason, who wrote to her saying, “I think I’m your brother.” What??? Her BROTHER? Valerie answered, “No, I think you’re mistaken,” and that was the end of it...for the moment. Soon, she noticed her parents talking to each other with a lot of concern in their voices, and her mom getting very angry at her dad. Then, her parents told her what it was all about. Her mom said, “Sweetie, dad wants to tell you something.” Her dad continued: “Valerie, when I was young, I had a girlfriend, before your mother. And it turns out that she got pregnant and had a son, and I’m the father. I didn’t know anything about it until he texted me.” She was shocked. This boy, Jason, WAS actually her...older brother? It was clear just how hard her parents were taking this news. It turns out that Jason’s mother, her dad’s...ex-girlfriend, never wanted to bother him, especially when she found out that he had started dating her mom, but now she had health problems and she couldn’t work, and they desperately needed help. Her dad went to meet with Jason after a few days, and when it happened it was very weird for all of them, especially for her mom. In fact, afterwards Valerie’s dad returned WITH Jason. His mother was in the hospital and he needed a place to live. Her dad was a little lost and didn’t know what to do with Jason, and whether he ought to act like his father, while her mom was...a little bit jealous, it seems, even though she tried her hardest to be kind. And Valerie...didn’t know what to think, really. Jason was a weird guy. He was a little bit rude and had bad manners. He didn’t pay attention to her mom, was a little angry at her dad (though he understood that the situation wasn’t his fault), and he clearly didn’t like Valerie. And she didn't like him either, to be honest. For the first few nights, he had to stay in her room. He looked over her things and said, “I never had this much stuff.” She didn’t know what to say. She felt simultaneously guilty and annoyed...it was really confusing. He touched everything, and she said, “Hey, can you...not touch my things?” and he looked at her and said “Why, do you think I'm going to steal them?” It was so awkward and weird. Thankfully, he moved into another room after a few days. Her dad would ask him to wash his dishes after eating or to help him in some other way, but he didn’t listen, which annoyed everyone, especially her mom, because her dad was using a big chunk of his money to help Jason and his mother. Honestly, everyone HATED Jason. Yes, they felt sorry for him, but still he annoyed them so much. Basically, her family’s lives were pretty chaotic during this period. One day, Valerie accidentally broke a vase that her mom had made. Usually her mom kept her cool whatever happened, but because she had been so nervous and tired recently, she was really angry at her. Then Jason came in and said, “It wasn’t Valerie, it was me.” Her mom looked at Jason angrily, but didn’t say anything. She asked Jason later why he said it, and after thinking for a while, he said: “You’re my sister.” She couldn’t believe it. Yeah, he was weird and rude, but he had defended her for some reason. She said “Thank you,” and that was it. The days that followed were worse – they tried to hide it, but she could tell that her parents were arguing about Jason every day. One night, when her parents were asleep, she heard some noise. She checked and it was Jason, putting his shoes on. “Where are you going?” she asked. He looked at her and answered, “I don’t belong here.” She stare into his eyes while he was putting his jacket on, and saw who he really was. Not some rude, mean guy, but someone whose life had taken a horrible turn – his mom was sick, his father was...well, her father. Out of all of them, HE was the one having the hardest time. So she locked the door and said, “No, don’t leave.” He asked “Why?” and she responded: “You’re my brother.” To know what's next, watch the video to the end. My Anti-Vaxx Mom Almost Killed Us All
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hey, I’m Chris, I’m 16 and my mom thought I was a rebellious teenager. You know why I was “rebelling”? Because she wouldn’t let me use any traditional medicine or get vaccinated. Wow, I'm such a rebel! But she doesn’t think that anymore, because I proved her wrong. Okay, so here’s the deal. When I was 13 or 14 my mom believed in “natural” medicine, like oils, plants, and HEALING CRYSTALS. She was also against vaccines, so yeah, I was unvaccinated for a long time. My mom was so outspoken about all of this that every time any of my friends would come over, she would start telling them about the healing powers of crystals and how vaccines are all big conspiracy of greedy doctors. My friends would nod and say, “Yeah, mhm, yeah,” and I would be SO EMBARRASSED I would just cover my face with my hands and silently cringe. And of course, she would always post stuff on the internet about how dangerous vaccines are and how healthy I was. She could literally spend HOURS doing that. But it wasn't true. The worst things would happen when I would get sick. She would try to “heal” me with crystals and make me drink some weird tea and stuff like that. And I would get sick a lot, because, you know, we wouldn't use ANY NORMAL MEDICINE OR VACCINES. Here’s a secret: HEALING CRYSTALS DON’T WORK. It’s all a scam! I would spend way too long trying to heal from the simplest sicknesses, like the flu. And it got to the point that I was afraid to even go outside during winter. My Mom would constantly hang out with other women who were into this stuff. So after a while, she even started to talk about these kin- of lizard people who want to take over the world. It was becoming truly unbearable, because I felt like she was going crazy and every time I tried to talk to her about it she would just say that I was brainwashed. But all of that changed in just one week. Well, not all of it, but most of it. One day, my Mom got seriously sick. You see, she didn’t get sick very often. She had a strong immune system (because HER parents treated her like a normal person when she was younger and got her things like medicine and vaccines). But this time, she was coughing constantly, so of course she was trying to use her oils, plants, and CRYSTALS to “heal” herself. And surprise, it didn’t help! She was getting worse every day. At first she was just coughing, but then she developed a fever, she was sweating, and she had chest pains. I was saying to her “Mom, PLEASE, let’s go to the doctor,” and she would answer in her loopy state “no, no, it’s all a big conspiracy, it’s just all the bad stuff coming out of my body, you know, the toxins.” I was FURIOUS and PANICKING at the same time, because my Mom was acting stupid and I couldn’t do anything about it. Or could I? Yes, it wasn’t possible for me to just buy her medicine, and we didn’t have anything at home, but at least I could ask my friends to bring me some from their homes. They did, and I was hiding some of it in my Mom’s food. Yeah, this may sound unethical or whatever but I don’t care, it was like she was dying! I had hoped that the medicine would help, but she actually found out about it, maybe she could taste it. In her confused state, she actually got up from her bed and came to my room, all pale and sweaty, and said in a very rough and sickly voice… “CHRISTOPHER...did you try to POISON ME?” It would be funny, if it wasn’t so scary. She was like a zombie. For a second I really thought that this was the end, the zombie apocalypse had begun, and it was all caused by those stupid CRYSTALS. And then she suddenly lost consciousness and fell down. It wasn’t funny anymore. I was panicking, I tried to wake her up and was screaming, “Mom! Mom!” but she wouldn’t wake up. I immediately called an ambulance and tried to explain the situation as best as I could, but I was still panicking until an operator calmed me down and I was able to explain everything. An ambulance came and took my Mom to the hospital, and I was panicking all the way there, thinking that my Mom might die. It turns out that she had pneumonia and they began her treatment immediately. The doctor said that it was a MIRACLE that I didn’t get infected myself, but it wasn’t a miracle. In fact, I was very careful around Mom, always wearing a mask and disinfecting myself in every way I could. After some time, when she was feeling a little better and in a normal mental state, I finally got to talk to her in her room. She looked at me, smiled, and I almost wanted to cry because my Mom was fine. But then I wanted to cry because she immediately disappointed me. “Chris... bring me... my crystals…” Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

Recently my family has been going through some hard times. My brother and I still can't get over it. It just so happened that I was a late-in-life baby and, a girl - which is even worse, I guess. Double trouble! Yeah, of course my mom loved me to bits and pieces, but sometimes it was just so... annoying! My father also left us when I was three, so... Anyway! The only beacon of light was my brother. He is so freaking cool! We can literally talk about everything, I can share all my thoughts with him. But I have to confess, that I envied him a little. He is an adult now, so he is allowed to do whatever he wants to. He goes out with friends, goes to parties, drives a car. And I was never allowed to go with him. Our mom always had a good reason to make me stay at home. It's too dangerous Sarah, or too late, or too risky. I was getting more and more annoyed with my mother every day. To the point that I wouldn't even try to listen to her advice. Even when she would try to make up with me, I would keep on mouthing off. And I just didn't understand how my brother could stand her. They had long conversations and every Sunday they went out to a cafe around the corner for coffee. I never went there with them because I didn't want to be part of the audience for mom's speeches. " One evening, my brother came home from college and said that he had made up his mind to go to the Grand Canyon with his friends. He had been saving money for a long time. He was beaming with excitement. I was very happy for him on the one hand, but on the other, the last thing I wanted in my life was to stay alone with my mom during summer break. So I asked my brother to talk mom into letting me go with him. He did his best to persuade her that it was safe and that there was nothing to worry about, but mom was adamant. And on top of that, she got very offended and said that I was not going. End of conversation! That was the final straw. I don't remember all the nasty things that I said to her that evening, but what I remember clearly was that I said: ”I hate you!” She burst into tears and went to her room and I didn't even feel sorry. The next morning she seemed to be in a better mood and suddenly said that... I could go. I was on cloud nine. My brother and I had such a great time on vacation. It was my first trip far from home, so everything seemed so breathtaking. I loved the views and our walks and all the fun. And of course I was very happy to spend so much time with him. We even had a couple of stories we agreed to not tell mom about. There was one when we got lost hiking and one when we dove into water from a really high rock. I wanted to stay there forever and never go back. But we did go back, of course. And my mom cooked us a delicious dinner and gave us a very warm welcome. My brother could not stop telling her about our trip, but I didn't feel like listening and went to my room. I was very upset that it was all over and that it was time to come back to real life. Later that evening, I was passing by my brother's room and I saw that he was sitting all alone crying. It scared me to see him like this. I had never seen my brother cry before. But when I asked him what happened he said that he had an argument with his girlfriend. But I knew my brother better than that! He would never cry because of a girlfriend and I don't think he would ever lie to me either. So I suspected that he had another reason. In the following days and weeks, I was expecting my daily routine with all the arguments and fights, but it never happened. My mom spent a lot of time in her room and I hardly ever saw her in the mornings anymore before school. She didn't make breakfast for us any longer and my lunch box was also empty unless I filled it myself. It was so unusual that I even started missing my mom's awkward questions and morning pancakes. When I got back home from school every day she was never there, and neither was my brother. And every evening they came together, always quiet and looking devastated. One day, when I was walking toward my house from school, I saw an ambulance leaving our place. I rushed to the door and I was very surprised to see my aunt Lizzy, my mom's younger sister, in our hallway. Aunt Lizzy lived in another town far away from us and very rarely came for a visit. She didn't smile or give me a hug like she always used to do, and she looked really worried. And then she told me... Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened
I Suspect Our Housekeeper Steals Things
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Andrea, and she’d like to tell you just how much injustice and lack of honesty can cost you – literally and figuratively. But first of all she needs to explain something to you about her family. A long time ago her great grandfather built an enormous three-storey house, which was supposed to become a “family nest,” just like an old aristocratic estate in the South. Her great grandfather managed to maintain his wealth during the Great Depression, so her grandfather and later on her father inherited both the house and the traditions. And Andrea hopes that when the time comes, she’ll live there with her own family. The house is really big, and so is the garden surrounding it. So her father hires people to help the family with all of the household tasks that need to be done. The gardener creates masterpieces from ordinary plants. The cook makes dinner and leaves food for the next day in the fridge. And then there’s the housekeeper. Their current housekeeper is called Julia; she came from Mexico a couple of years ago. Somebody has to pay all these expenses, so her dad spends almost all of his time in his office, coming home late for dinner and sometimes not even coming home at all. She misses seeing him a lot, but she understands why it has to be like this. Her mom doesn’t have to work, but this doesn’t means that she gets to see her more often either. Even though their town is small, there are many activities that her mom always participates in. And whenever there's some kind of family drama, her mom is always there in the middle of it – soothing, listening, and encouraging. All the housewives in their town share their secrets with her, and no contest like “The Most Beautiful Rose in Town” would dare be held without her. So Andrea often stays home without anyone apart from Julia, who's completely silent. But she seldom feels lonely. Her huge house is not as empty as you might think, and it's never felt depressing to her! It has a complicated but well-thought out interior, full of beautiful things: vases, jewel caskets, ash trays (though her father doesn't smoke); all kinds of figurines, stones, and other souvenirs collected by three generations of her family. And from very early childhood she’s enjoyed sorting them out; nobody else’s house has so many amazing and sometimes very expensive things. And she’s always felt proud to experience such an unusual way of life in her home. That's why she noticed immediately when a letter opener and an ivory owl statuette disappeared from the table in the library. Well, the library is very large, so these things could easily have fallen on the floor and gotten lost during cleaning, so she just called the housekeeper and asked her to look for them during her next cleaning session. For some reason Julia looked worried and nervous, as if she had ordered her to find the souvenirs immediately. But she is quite an emotional person and doesn’t speak English very well, so she decided not to correct her and returned to what she was doing. But the story here has only just begun. A week later, an antique forged ash tray disappeared from the living room. That seemed strange. She looked under the coffee tables and sofas, kneeling on the floor in her dress, but couldn’t find it. Then she remembered the souvenirs from the library and went to see if they had been found…they hadn’t. Okay, those things were really small and could easily have rolled somewhere under the shelves, but the ash tray was really big and heavy and couldn't just disappear so easily. So where did it go? Had it been…stolen? Her parents didn’t seem to notice the loss of these things, so she decided not to upset them and instead tried to figure out who had been in their home recently. The more she thought about it, the more she realized that no one new had visited them. Maybe it was somebody from the house staff? The gardener never entered the main house. The cook worked only in the evenings, and seldom left the kitchen. So that just left Julia! She actually lived in the house; she has her own room and, also, she has access to EVERY room! So she started an investigation, like Sherlock Holmes. Andrea followed Julia in disguise. She examined every room before and after cleaning, trying to catch her in the act when she stole something again. She was contemplating telling her parents everything but, you know…she didn’t want to look intolerant by blaming Julia without any proof. Who else could steal valuables in a wealthy family's house? Of course, only a migrant! No way! She didn’t want anybody to think she was so narrow-minded. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
My Dad Nearly Died At War And I Had To Make My Choice
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Danny, and this is the story of how he crushed his father's dreams to follow his own. His dad is a military man, and that basically set the course of his family’s life. They've lived all over the country: New York, Texas, Alaska, California, you name it! It's hard to make close friends living like that, but it's alright – Danny also has a little brother and sister, so he’s not totally alone. Their parents are strict, especially his dad. He always said that he was going to make real men out of his sons. Danny’s not sure how his sister fits into this concept, but that doesn’t stop his dad from trying. In order to do that, he applied military standards to parenting. If they misbehaved, they were punished like REAL SOLDIERS. Usually, it was stuff like doing push-ups, running in circles around the house, and worst of all – cleaning duty. Let's just say that after they flunk tests at school, their toilet is shining for weeks. Don’t think that his dad’s a crazy tyrant or something. He's honest and brave and strong, and... Danny could go on forever. He also leads by example. When he messes up, he has to fix it. Like, this one time they were camping, and he managed to forget the tents and they spent the night in the rain. It was still great and they learned how to build a shelter in the wild, but the following week it was their dad who had to do all the chores in the house for them. So, it’s no wonder Danny always wanted to be a soldier like his dad. He supported Danny and taught him how to handle weapons (not real ones of course), how to survive in the wild, some first aid, and some fighting tricks – stuff like that. After the 8th grade, he was supposed to go to military school in New Mexico. His mom was against it since it was in another state and he would be far away from his family for the first time. But he was determined. So, while his dad was on one of his deployments, he got accepted to military school! He was thrilled. He couldn't wait until his dad got back home so he could tell him the news in person. Danny knew he would be so proud of him. A couple of weeks after that, they were informed that his dad had been seriously wounded. Danny won't go into details, but it was bad enough for him to be sent back a bit earlier. His mind was racing with thoughts and memories. He knew that some soldiers didn’t come back home. He knew that Mrs. Hale had lost her husband, and that his friends’ mom returned from her deployment with a gunshot wound. But it had always happened to someone else. Not to their family, not to HIS DAD. Suddenly, it all became so very real, and not that appealing. He didn’t want to admit it, even to himself – but he was scared. If his dad could get hurt there, then he definitely could too. Danny started to wonder what would've happened if it had been him instead of his dad out there. What if he got shot or killed, and then somebody would have to go tell his mom that he wouldn't be coming home? When his dad finally got back, he stayed in the military hospital. They visited him often, to the point that Danny started to get bored going there. He tried talking to the medical staff but that didn't work out. They were nice people, but their patience was limited, so mostly he was shooed away by everyone. Except for one person – Jane. She was a nurse, and didn't have much time for him. But she tolerated him enough to answer some of his dumb questions about his dad’s health. She even gave him all these pamphlets about physiotherapy treatments and some other medical stuff. He got really into it, and started digging for more information on the internet. Partly, just to impress his dad. And maybe Jane, but mostly his dad. Anyway, time went on, Danny’s dad was progressively getting better, and Danny himself was getting more and more interested in medicine and less interested in going to military school. The only problem was telling his dad about it. So, he worked up enough courage and finally told him that he wasn’t sure he wanted to be in the military or move to another state for military school. He didn’t really have time to say anything else before he was interrupted. His dad said he couldn't just throw away everything he'd worked so hard for, that he’d wanted it his whole life. And that eventually he would change his mind and regret it. “You've already been accepted, you're going. Period.” Danny panicked. He knew he needed to change his dad’s mind. So he started talking about how scared and worried he was for him. He told him that he never really understood before how dangerous a soldier’s job was and that he didn't want to do it... I Stammered And Pretended To Be Mute
Story By Simon | Subscribe Our Channel https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Simon. Listen to how he speaks. His speech seems flawless, right? Well, we ought to tell you that several years ago he would have found it difficult to even to tell you his name. Why? Because he has a stammer! Simon's story is paradoxical, because he started to communicate with other people BECAUSE he stammered. Simon had this problem right from his early childhood, and it got worse as he got older. He was once frightened by a dog when he was about three, and from that moment on he struggled to pronounce every single word. Even saying his own name was a real battle for him. His worried parents took him to all sorts of doctors and tried dozens of different kinds of therapy, but nothing helped. By the time he was 13, Simon barely said more than a dozen words a day. But Simon has always been an optimistic person by nature, he chose to take on the image of an enigmatic man of few words. This worked well until his parents decided to move to a new area. And so Simon found himself in a neighbourhood where no one knew him. Like many teenagers with problems, he felt depressed, and tried to lock himself away at home – “Who would want to socialize with a stammering creep like me?” he thought to himself. Not far from Simon's home there was a sports ground with a basketball hoop. He saw a group of boys a bit older than him playing there. Simon had always been good at basketball, as he was taller than many of his peers, and he assumed that a good player would be welcomed by everyone. He put on his most impenetrable pokerface and joined them. He played until he felt exhausted, and after the game, and with palpable respect, the boys asked Simon who he was. Here we go…he felt pretty nervous that I needed to speak in front of five people at once. He opened his mouth...but said nothing, unable to squeeze out a single sound. They repeated their question. Simon just stood there, as mute as a fish. Suddenly one of them had a moment of enlightenment and asked: “Are you mute?” Simon was a bit puzzled by the question, and managed to nod slightly in a somewhat ambigous manner. They took it is as a confirmation and said “Well, who cares? We’ll call you Kobe. Let’s play!” He quickly became part of the group, and really enjoyed himself. They turned out to be very nice guys, and seemed completely unbothered by his condition. Sometimes, Simon felt guilty about pretending to be something he was not, but on the other hand it was the first time in his life that he didn’t need to struggle on a daily basis to maintain a friendship. The funny thing was that after some time, they reached the conclusion that because Simon was mute, he must also be deaf But as you know, what goes up must come down. Once, Simon arrived at the sports ground as usual and found a group of older guys watching his friends playing. They were laughing at them in a pretty derogatory way. He realized they were drunk, but decided to ignore them and joined the game. “Kobe, Kobe, pass it on!” one of his teammates shouted. There was a roar of laughter from the older guys. “Is that one Kobe?” they howled, and moved onto the playground. They snatched the ball and began throwing it at Simon violently. He was much smaller than them – he was 13 and they were all 17 at least, so he couldn’t do much. “Don’t touch him! He's deaf!” his friends yelled out, but this aggravated the bullies even more. His brave friends stood up for him, and engaged in a spectacular battle with the bullies to “reconquer” Simon, as he was unable to get up from the ground. The drunks had to retreat, yelling offensive words back at them. When he got up, he understood that it was now the moment to speak. He had to thank his friends. He summoned up all his will and squeezed out a stammering “Th-th-th-thank you”. They looked at him in silence, not understanding what had just happened. At that point, he burst into tears and ran away. He was suffering not because of his bruises, but from the bitter shame. He ran and ran without even knowing where he was going, when he suddenly heard footsteps behind. He stopped, and noticed they were following him. “Hey, so you CAN speak after all?” He nodded. “And you're not deaf?” He nodded again. “I’m so-so-so…” “But that’s cool! So we can talk to you normally!” Simon hadn't been expecting this reaction, and despite being unable to say a word, he felt deep gratitude. “You don’t need to apologize, it’s ok. Do you stammer? It’s not a problem! Know what? If you can’t talk, let’s invent our own gestures so that no one understands us.” And from that day on, the boys began inventing a whole system of signs that was only for them to use. Simon can now talk normally. After years of therapy he finally began to see positive results, and now he stammers only when he's nervous. But more importantly, he learned that true friends are those who accept you with all your problems and imperfections.
My First Tattoo Was A Disaster (Epic Fail)
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is George. Recently he got his first tattoo, and it turned out to be a disaster...but let’s start from the beginning! Since he was 14 years old, George dreamed of having a tattoo. In fact, he loved how people covered in tattoos looked. They were so cool, and it was also a way to express themselves by having real art on their body. He couldn’t wait to finally get his first tattoo. He had already decided that it should be an image of a wolf, because they were the animals that perfectly reflected his inner self – they were proud, majestic and loyal animals. The only problem was that he had to be 18 or have permission from his parents to get one. So he decided to ask for it as a gift for his 16th birthday. When he did so, both of them started to ask questions like: “Why do you need to ruin your body?”, “Are you doing this for a girl?”; “You realize that this is for life?” He tried to persuade them, but they still said no, adding that once he turned 18 he could do whatever he wanted. But he couldn’t wait, because in his mind, he already had a tattoo of a beautiful wolf. But sure, George gets it – his parents are from another generation, and it’s not the same for them. So he had to come up with a new plan. First of all, his tattoo had to be on his back so they wouldn’t notice it, and also it had to be relatively small. Second, he had to find someone who would be willing to give him a tattoo at home. It would also be cheaper than going to a tattoo parlor. He asked around, and eventually found this dude who was an amateur tattoo master. He can’t reveal his real name, but let’s call him Bill. They texted each other, and Bill said that he had an entire kit for tattoos and it was perfectly safe, because he was always very cautious. Moreover, he said that it would be much cheaper because he was still learning. So he went to his place and he was a bit...weird. He kept talking about how good he was, although before he had said that he was only a beginner, and there was something off about him; like, you could say that he wasn’t genuine in some ways. Honestly, George felt had to cancel it then and there, but he was so excited, so instead he thought: “what could go wrong”? Well, as it turned out, a lot could go wrong. Since it was on his back, George couldn’t see what Bill was doing, but from time to time he would say “oops” or something like that. That’s not something you want to hear from your tattoo master.... After a few hours, he said they were finished for today, and he would continue some other time. George looked in the mirror and...it was horrible! The wolf’s eyes were too far from each other, the snout was too long, and overall it was kind of crooked. George got angry, and started arguing with him, like “what is that, it doesn’t look like it should!” But Bill brushed it off, saying that it was alright, he would fix it later, and that it wasn't a big deal. He asked when he could come to finish the tattoo, but George said “no thanks” and stormed off. He still had to pay him, though. His friends made fun of George for a long time, and he had to be very cautious during gym class to make sure that nobody saw his terrible tattoo. But people still noticed it and told all the others, so everyone was constantly laughing at him. It was very embarrassing for George, and he tried to explain the situation, but they didn’t care. Moreover, it was very uncomfortable trying to take care of it, because it was on his back... But most importantly, he had to hide it from his parents, because he knew they would be so angry at him. He did his best for several weeks, but eventually his dad walked into his room looking for something. George was changing shirts right at that moment, and he noticed the “wolf”. He asked: “what is THAT?!” and well, the only thing he could do was to come clean to him and his mom. George explained the whole thing to both of them, and they were silent the whole time, trying to look strict, but when he finished they couldn’t contain themselves and started laughing! George was actually relieved, because it was better than them being angry at him. He asked if they could give him money so he could fix it, so at least it would look better. Through their laughter they said, “no, let it be a reminder of what happens when you don’t listen to your parents”. Eventually he got used to his “crooked wolf” and even started to like it. When his friends or his parents made fun of it, he also made fun of himself, so eventually they forgot about it. Now, George wears his first tattoo as a reminder of the need to be more cautious in the future, and to not get a tattoo done at some shady guy’s place. He will fix it when he turns 18, but until then, he has to live with it! Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
My Best Friend Tried to Steal MY CRUSH
★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This guy’s name is Bryan, and he has a best friend called Eric. They always thought that nothing would ever be able to damage their friendship – after all, they’d never had a single serious argument! But that all changed when they were both around 13, and they met a girl called Phoebe. Phoebe was an awesome girl from another school, and they actually met online (they both played the same computer game). At first, all three of them chatted online, but then they started hanging out with her in real life as well. She was fun and cool and pretty, and Bryan started to like her a lot. One evening after they had walked Phoebe home, they were talking about how awesome she was, and Bryan eventually told Eric that he liked her. To his surprise, Eric told him that he liked her as well. At first they thought it was awesome – like, they were such great friends that even their taste in girls was similar, and they didn’t think it was a big deal. The three of the continued to hang out together, but of course, online, Bryan chatted with Phoebe one to one, and he got the feeling that she might like him as well. He decided not to tell Eric so he wouldn’t get upset, but continued talking to Phoebe on a daily basis. Some time later, Eric told him that he thought Phoebe liked him because she was so friendly towards him, and Bryan responded by revealing that he had the same impression. Bryan told his friend that he intended to ask Phoebe out, but then Eric got mad and said that it should be him that does it, because he had a better chance with her and that was only fair. Of course, Bryan disagreed, and so they actually had a serious argument for the first time in their lives. After that, they talked less and less to each other, and when all three of then were hanging out together, Eric desperately tried to be funny and cool with her. He had never acted like that before, and it was very weird for Bryan to witness it, but Phoebe laughed and enjoyed his new image – so Bryan decided that he should do the same. Later Eric started to make some barely noticeable but mean jokes about Bryan, saying things like, “hey, Bryan, wanna race towards that sign?” and if he said “no”, he would answer “of course you don’t, I forgot that you’re the weakest in our class”. So he usually said yes to challenges like that, but Eric always turned out to be a bit faster than him. Of course, Bryan argued with him and tried to answer everything the same way he did, but it was all so stupid. Online, he would tell Phoebe how Eric was acting like a jerk all of a sudden, and she was like, “he said the same thing about you, what is happening between you guys?” At that point he thought of telling her that he liked her, but decided that he wanted to do it in a more romantic way, so he planned to ask her out without Eric around. But they were already planned to go out all together, so he decided to do it afterwards. So, the day came and they were hanging out as usual, but then suddenly Eric told Phoebe in front of Bryan that he liked her and wanted to date her! Bryan assumes Eric had expected that he wouldn’t say anything because it would be too awkward, but he couldn’t lose his chance, so he said right after him that he also liked her and that she should choose the best one. And yes, it was awkward. He still remembers just how wide open Phoebe’s eyes looked at that moment. She clearly didn’t know what to say...so she said something like “um, well, actually, I have a boyfriend, guys, I’m sorry”. The rest of the evening was very awkward. She was clearly feeling very uncomfortable at this point. Maybe she didn’t actually have a boyfriend, but the situation itself was obviously weird for her. So they walked her home, and she muttered “sorry” and went into her house. After that, they didn’t really hang out with her, and Bryan of course understood why she didn’t want to anymore – or maybe she really did have a boyfriend... He and Eric didn’t talk for weeks, and he missed him. He missed Phoebe, too, because she was a good friend, but Eric was his BEST friend. Even other people at school noticed that they didn’t talk to each other and asked why. So one day after school, he texted Eric and asked if he wanted to hang out, and he said yes. At first it was a bit awkward; they were both still mad at each other. But eventually they just started talking and joking around as usual, and soon it was just like it had been before. They didn’t talk about Phoebe at first, because it was an awkward memory for both of them, but eventually they did of course. They decided that they wouldn’t act like they had towards each other ever again. Bryan now realizes that he could have lost his best friend because they were both acting stupid, and he really should have handled the situation better.
I Made My Classmate's Life A Nightmare And I Am Ashamed
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Stan, and until recently he was the biggest bully in his school. So he was the guy who bullied other people. He’s too ashamed to go into detail about how he did it, but a lot of the other kids were scared of him. He regularly picked on people who he thought were losers or weirdos, and he even had other guys who followed him and “helped” him with it. It made him feel like he was the king of the school, and if someone tried to stand up to him – well, they had no chance. Even the teachers knew about it, but they didn’t really try to do anything, because they knew that even if they called Stan’s mom she wouldn’t care that much. And, well, the fact was that she had good reasons not to care. Stan’s dad left the family when he was a kid, and it was really hard for his mom to make a living to support him and his brothers. He didn’t really like being at home, so he spent most of his time with his friends. His teachers mostly ignored him, because they thought that he wasn’t very smart and basically didn’t have a future. And to be honest, that’s what Stan thought about himself as well. There was this guy in Stan’s school, his name was Julian, and Stan HATED him. He was this small guy with glasses who always got good grades, and all the teachers loved him. This really irritated Stan, and so Julian became his next victim. Stan would always sit next to him, and he used the opportunity to make fun of him in many different ways, like calling him names and taking away his stuff and, well...bullying him. Regularly. Like, every day. And Julian never did anything; he just asked him to stop – quite politely, too scared to even look at him. This only annoyed Stan even more. So this continued, like, for months on end, and it got to the point where Julian would usually sit in the classroom during breaks so that Stan wouldn’t have a chance to mess with him. And then one day, Julian stopped coming to school. Stan thought that maybe he had got sick, but he didn’t care that much – he wasn’t the only guy like that in the school. One day, Stan’s mom got really angry with him, basically because of everything – his grades, his attitude, everything; and he didn’t want to hear it, so he left home when she fell asleep. He was hanging out outside, angry at everyone who had normal lives. He knew that all he had to do was to say sorry to his mom so that she would let him go back in, but he didn’t want to. It was getting quite cold outside and he was really hungry, so he tried calling his friends – maybe one of them would let him stay at their place for the night. But all of them said “no,” without even offering a good reason why. As he was wandering around, he noticed Julian coming out of the store. He didn’t see him, so Stan walked up to him, and he was visibly frightened. Probably because there was no one else around, Stan didn’t feel the need to mock him, so they just talked about stuff and he told him about his situation. He asked Julian if he could crash at his place for the night. He clearly didn’t want him in his house, but...he was just a nice guy, you know? So he said “yes,” and they went to his place. Stan was really SHOCKED to see that Julian lived in even worse conditions than him. His house was very old and in a bad condition, and it seemed like he was alone there. He asked where his parents were, and Julian said that they were usually out during the night, drinking. He almost didn’t talk to him at all, but he gave him some food and made sure he was comfortable. Stan finally asked him why he didn’t go to school. He said: “Um...well, because of you…” He really hadn’t expected that. This dude was living worse than him, yet he was like, super-smart and also kinda of a good guy, and he couldn’t even say “sorry” to him. He thanked Julian in the morning and told him that he wouldn’t mess with him anymore because he was a good guy. Stan went home the next day. Soon, Julian was back at school, too. His friends started making fun of him again, and Stan told them to leave him alone. At that point, they started mocking Stan as well, and for the first time he felt the same as all the people he’d bullied. Eventually he stopped hanging out with those guys, and stopped bullying people entirely. Not like, right away, it’s just that every time he wanted to mock someone, he felt kinda guilty. Stan hoped that he and Julian would become friends, but it turned out that Julian really didn’t want to after all he’d done to him. And he gets that. Some time had passed since then, and life has got much better. He’s almost solved his problems with his mom, and his grades have improved a little. Plus, he now tries to defend those that he used to bully before. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
My Parents Can Never Forgive What I Did That Night

Maya really likes metal. It’s not the only genre she listens to, but she’s always enjoyed the heavier stuff. So when she found out about a big concert happening in her town, she knew she just HAD to go. A few cool bands were supposed to be there, and she had dreamed of going to a concert like that since she was like, 12. But...as much as she wanted to be a cool metalhead who does whatever she wants, in reality she was a 15-year-old girl, and she had to ask her parents’ permission to go there. And the thing was that they hated the music she listened to – they said it was just noise. But she asked anyway...and they said “no.” And then she asked again, and they said “no” again. All of this was repeated again and again, hundreds of times, and every time it was a “no.” She gave up at first, but then she came up with a plan. Maya said that she would go to her friend’s house and spend the night at her place. Her friend confirmed it for them. She packed her bag, but instead of pajamas and toiletries, she packed an outfit she had put together for the concert. She also had some money she had saved from her birthday, and it was enough to buy a ticket! So she finally got to the venue, but she still had one problem – security wouldn’t let her through because she was obviously too young for the concert. You see, the thing was that although she was 15, she looked about 13...even with makeup on and her oversized leather jacket. So she had to come up with a new plan on the spot! She noticed a cool-looking girl standing outside. She had purple hair and a nose ring, and Maya went up to her and asked her if she could help her get into the concert. She laughed and said, “I like you!” She told the security guy that she was her sister and that she would look after her, but he still wasn’t sure. So then she started pleading, “Come on, please” and he finally agreed. She was finally inside! And it was so cool! There were so many people, and all of them looked so different – more interesting than regular people. She felt like she had arrived home. It was very loud, of course, and also pretty dark, and she was so overwhelmed with emotions! Some people were in the mosh pit, but she was too scared to go there. She also couldn’t really see the band because she was too far away in the back. She kept having to jump to see them, and even then she could only see a little bit. Then some guy noticed her and asked (well, more like shouted in her ear) if she wanted to sit on his shoulders. She happily agreed and gave her bag to the girl who was her “sister.” It was a little scary, but also incredibly cool; she had been waiting for this her entire life. She thought that nothing could ruin that moment. But she was wrong! The guy suddenly jumped, and she fell down. She didn’t get hurt, but she fell down onto something wet, like someone’s spilled drink. It was pretty nasty, but it wasn’t enough to ruin her evening. So she turned around to find her “sister”, but she was nowhere to be found. She started to look around, trying to find her, but it was literally impossible to look for her in the crowd. Maya finally realized that she had stolen her bag and that she wasn’t getting it back. Now she was really panicking, because her regular clothes, her phone, and the rest of her money was in that bag! How could she have given it to someone she'd just met!? She went outside and started crying. She was wet, dirty, and alone. Suddenly, some very big metal head came up to her. He had long hair and a massive beard; he was large and had very scary eyes. He was much older than everyone else, like 30 or 40. And she thought that he wanted to rob her or something...but then he asked if she was alright and why she was crying. He had a very soft and kind voice. She told him everything that had happened. He laughed, and said “let’s go in and find your bag.” They went inside and he started actively searching around, looking closely for people with purple hair. He finally found the girl and took her bag back from her. She thanked him and went outside again to go home. It had been a very awkward and messy evening, and not what she had imagined it would be at all. The guy that helped her came after her and asked if she wanted to get a burger. He said “There's a burger joint nearby, let’s go eat. I’m Andy, by the way.” She realized that she was really hungry, so she agreed... My Dad Is Obsessed With Sports And Doesn't Care About Me
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, this is Michael Jordan. No, not that Michael Jordan, of course. Michael is his first name, Jordan is his middle name, and yes, he was named after the greatest basketball player of all time. This was an idea his dad had had since he was like, eighteen, which was years before he even got married and even longer before he knew he’d have a son. He has always been a HUGE sports fan. His dad had never really played any sports. Of course, as a kid, he had a basketball hoop in the front yard, but it didn’t really go further than that. But as he got older, his dad got really into it. And he’s not just talking about the NBA. Sure, basketball is his favorite sport, but his dad’s also into hockey, tennis, baseball, football, soccer…Michael can’t even remember all of them! Some kind of game is on literally every single minute when his dad’s at home. Sure, he’s got a job and stuff – in fact, he works as an art teacher and he’s a really good painter. This makes his love of sports a paradox for most people who get to know him. His dad’s never lived in a major sporting city, so the teams he follows are all over the country. He’s been a Chicago Bulls fan since he grew up seeing Michael Jordan play, and as for hockey, he loves the LA Kings…at least that’s the stuff Michael remembers for sure; he’s kind of confused about the rest. His dad had always hoped his first child would be a boy. And it was not just because he wanted to give him that name. You see, after college Michael’s dad had to move to another town, so he left all his friends behind, and they had been the only people he could discuss the Bulls’ games with and stuff like that. Yes, of course there are plenty of sports fans online, but you can’t watch a game with people you meet on the internet. So, anyway, his dad found himself in a situation where literally no one around him shared his interests. And that was tough for him. Like, even the people who were also kind of interested in basketball, hockey, or football could only make small talk with him, and his dad needed more. These were people who’d watch the Superbowl or who knew which team LeBron was playing for, but his dad needed a real soulmate. Then he met Michael’s mom, who turned out to be his soulmate in everything BUT sports; they got married, and when his dad found out he was having a son, he already had a plan. And he was determined to stick to it. As Michael was growing up, he was exposed to sports as much as possible. He even had a Bulls onesie and a Wayne Gretzky poster on his wall when he was only a couple of months old. His dad travels to see big games live several times a year, and when Michael turned three he started to take him with him. And he would have done it even earlier if it was not for his mom. She was okay with sports when they met, but over the years she's gotten so tired of them. Now every time his dad puts on a game she leaves the room and puts on music. And that’s kind of sad, because they’ve ended up spending less time together. So, awkward moments started to occur when Michael became old enough to understand what was going on around him. And it didn’t take long for him to realize that he was completely uninterested in any of the sports his dad was obsessed with. Sure, it was always fun playing them, but he just didn’t get what was so exciting about being a fan! But his dad never gave up. Years and years passed, and he still kept trying. Sometimes he'd change his tactics, and ease up on the pressure, hoping Michael would just spontaneously want to watch a game with him. But that never happened. He liked spending time with him, but why did everything have to be about sports? For example, Michaels’ been learning to play drums for five years already, and every time there was a concert he’d like to go to that wasn’t too far from them, he would have liked to have gone with his dad! But half of the time, there was some really important game on that he couldn’t miss the same night. And when they did go...Well, once they went to the concert of a really good jazz drummer. The show was awesome, but his dad was so bored and was constantly checking scores online. That was…heartbreaking. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
I Was Stalked By A Mysterious Woman
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, this is Karla. She wants to tell you a story that is really hard for her to talk about. It’s about how one encounter and one conversation can plunge your life into chaos. What is there for Karla to say about herself? She’s a teenager who lives in a big city. She has no siblings and only talks to her parents and friends. She does have a lot of friends, though. In a city with millions of people, you could be a loner only if you really wanted to. She doesn’t like staying home, and after school she always hang outs with friends, no matter where: in the central park, in coffee shops, in malls. She likes hanging out and has never been scared of crowded places, even when she was a kid. Around that time, she once got lost in a shopping mall. Well, she wasn't really lost, she was just following a cotton candy cart. Her mom spent a lot of time looking for her, and when she finally found Karla she cried and even yelled at her. That might have been the only time that her parents have ever been that angry with her; usually they’re very kind and tender. But that day her mom got really scared – she thought her daughter had been kidnapped. So she’s an ordinary teenage girl, and now you're probably thinking – what kind of a story is she going to tell us? It's actually a story about stalking and kidnapping. At least, the kidnapping of her serene personality. Well, she spent a lot of time in crowded places, and she can’t really say when it all began. People don't really remember specific faces in crowds; all of them sort of merge into a single image. Like many other people, Karla seldom looks at people passing by or wonders who’s sitting at the next table in a coffee shop, and the chances are other people don’t care about her in the same way. How can she explain what she sensed that day? She was sitting in a coffee shop with her friends, eating a gigantic portion of ice cream. And she was being WATCHED! She looked behind her and caught the eye of a middle-aged woman. She had a kindbut unremarkable face, modest and clean clothes, no makeup or jewelry. The only noticeable thing was her long old-fashioned braid – one of her girlfriends giggled about her ridiculous hairdo. At that very moment for some reason Karla felt veryuncomfortable, but she turned back to her ice cream and forgot all about it. But soon after she was reminded of what had happened. This time she was alone sitting in her favorite park, completely absorbed in reading about her favorite heroes’ adventures, when suddenly she glanced up from her book. A nearby bench was occupied by the same woman! She still looked inconspicuous, but she recognized the braid curled around her head. The woman was looking straight at her, but when she noticed that Karla had seen her, she looked a bit embarrassed and soon left, abruptly. She was a little surprised, but, after all, it was the city’s central park. If there was any place in the world where you might meet a stranger for the second time, it's probably right there! But the situation kept repeating itself. Karla began to notice that DAMN braid here and there in the crowds of people that surrounded her! Or, was it just her imagination? She was confused; she didn’t understand how this could happen, but she saw this woman everywhere – at the park, in the coffee shop, at the mall, and even walking by her school gates! WHAT WAS SHE SUPPOSED TO THINK?! And then she was REALLY scared when she saw her going down the stairs of her own building. She quickly ducked down when she saw her, but IT WAS DEFINITELY HER! She didn't dare talk to her and instead hid behind a door. If it were a man, shewould have already called the police by now! But she didn’t want to look stupid if she was mistaken. She started looking for a logical explanation behind these bizarre encounters. Karla lives in a high-rise and there’s no way she could know the faces of all of her neighbors. And the encounters in the city could've been no more than a coincidence. She met the stranger with the braid one more time – on a narrow side street where she usually goes to dump the garbage. It looked like she’d been waiting for her there. She couldn’t stand it anymore, and threw the garbage bag straight at her. She dodged it and kept staring at her in silence, and Karla started yelling at her: “What do you need from me? I'm calling the police!” The woman shook her head and said: “Oh my God, no. Karla, please! I’m your mother!” She was shocked and speechless. She screamed at her that she was lying and ran home. But before doing so, for some reason, she accepted a piece of paper from her with a phone number. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com
I Broke Up With My Disabled Boyfriend And I Regretted It So Much
★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, this is Ellie, and she would like to confess something. She doesn’t expect that she’ll feel better after this, and honestly, she doesn’t think she deserves to anyway, but maybe she can at least prevent somebody else from repeating her mistake. Everything started on the first day of her junior year in high school. She was happy to finally see her classmates and friends again after the long summer vacation. You could say that she was pretty popular – she did have a lot of friends. During her lunch break, she spotted a new guy in the school yard. Well, it was hard not to notice him – he was tall, had messy blonde hair, and...he had a cane. She remembers that moment, when she thought to herself: “what a nice-looking guy, too bad he has to walk around with that stick.” She asked her friends about him, and they said he wasn’t a new student. It turns out that he had studied at home for the last two years because of a serious bone fracture. Apparently, he had started feeling better and returned to school. They said his name was Nate. Days, weeks, and even months flew by. But for some reason she couldn't get Nate out of her head, not for a single day. And from the way he looked at her whenever they crossed paths, she knew he was thinking about her too. There was something very special about Nate, something that made him stand out from the rest of the guys. While they would fool around during the breaks between classes, he would normally just sit with a book or do his homework. Ellie admired his maturity, but she couldn’t understand why he didn’t try to talk to her. After all, he wasn’t all that shy, at least that’s how it seemed. Sometimes, she imagined that they'd somehow collide in the school hallway, and following the best traditions of silly romantic comedies, he would drop a book and they would both simultaneously reach out for it, their hands would touch and then...well...But in actual fact, everything turned out even better than that. One of their friends had a huge birthday party, and Nate and Ellie were among those invited. Shortly after the party started, some of the guests gathered around the birthday girl in the living room, while others were playing board games in the kitchen. But she went to the balcony to get some fresh air because it was too stuffy inside, and the music was a little too loud. Nate must have noticed her disappearance, because he soon came out onto the balcony as well. Surprisingly, there was no one else there...just the two of them. They chatted a little but soon there was an awkward pause hanging in the air. She turned to Nate, and realized they were so close that their faces were almost touching. He didn’t miss this opportunity, and kissed her. And that night they started dating. She was thrilled! The next day she told her friends what had happened. But she wasn’t expecting the reaction she got from them. They started telling her that she had made a mistake, and that she shouldn’t be dating him. She tried to convince them that Nate was such a kind and loving person, but they wouldn’t listen. They kept insisting that dating a disabled person was extremely tough and that she deserved better. Of course, she didn’t change her mind just like that because of what they’d said. But the worst thing was that she started questioning her feelings toward Nate. On the one hand, they rapidly became very attached to each other within the space of a week. On the other, her friends were putting more and more pressure on her, trying to force her to break up with Nate. They would talk to her about it in school, text her on the way home, and even call her in the evening. It was too much to handle. She was weak, and Nate wasn’t. She genuinely respected him for the way he coped with his ailment. She never heard Nate complain about his injured leg or ask for help. In fact, she believed he would never have accepted help from anybody, even if he needed it. You know, Nate never showed any weaknesses. So, when she finally got the courage and told him that they needed to break up, the expression on his face remained absolutely tranquil, and he didn’t even ask her why. He just smiled sadly and walked away. Her friends were happy for Ellie, but she felt terrible. One day, Nate didn’t show up at school, and she got worried. She called and texted him several times, but he didn’t answer. She asked his friends if they had seen him, but none of them had. About an hour later the principal came into their class. He looked devastated. It was clear something terrible had happened. Her heart sank like a stone, but she tried to drive away bad thoughts... To know more, watch this story to the end! My First Boyfriend Took Advantage Of Me
★ Subscribe My Channel: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Helen was studying at school when all of her female friends suddenly started finding boyfriends – either the same age or a bit older. Helen looked on them with envy – she wasn’t the prettiest girl, but she was ready for her first romance story as well. She was the only single girl left among her friends, and needless to say she felt really awkward when they went out and they all brought their dates with them. But one day, Helen’s prayers were heard. She went to the mall alone, and while she was hanging around a guy came up to her to ask for her number. They chatted for a while; he was quite attractive and seemed to be a fairly interesting person to talk to. When she arrived home, he sent her a message, and they started chatting. They talked and talked for nearly the whole night through, and by 9 am when the time came to go to school, Helen realised that she was head over heels in love. When she finally saw him again, Helen felt her heart beat faster, and it became hard to breathe. Her love’s name was Joe, and he was 19. For Alice, it was pretty thrilling that he was so much older than she was, and yet his attention had fallen on her – and her alone. While they were drinking their coffee, Helen couldn’t take her eyes off him, while he seemed very interested in her life, asking lots of questions. At the end of their date he gave her a slight kiss. Gosh, Helen was now simply the happiest girl in the universe! She took a selfie with him so that she had material proof it wasn’t a dream. The next day, Helen simply couldn’t keep these developments to herself. She went to school and revealed everything to her friends, showing them the selfie. They smiled in disbelief and asked if she was certain Joe wasn’t too old for her. She snorted – female envy is just so pathetic. Meanwhile, he kept texting her all the time. When she was in her classes and couldn’t respond straight away, he wrote her angry messages if she took too long. Oh, that’s so cute, she thought, he cares so much! When she arrived home, Helen boasted to her mom that she had found a boyfriend, and told her about him. Her mother frowned, looked at the selfie and frowned even more. “I disapprove”, she said, “he’s too old for you, and you’re going to have problems with him.” Helen ignored her, and her mom didn’t press the issue – she had always given her plenty of freedom. And so Helen’s romance began without anyone’s approval, but that was just fine by her – because she had a new boyfriend called Joe who was genuinely interested in her. He kept messaging her and they met nearly every day. Unfortunately however, he refused to meet her friends, and told her that he didn’t want Helen to meet his. She agreed, because she thought that keeping their relationship half-secret was oh so romantic. Sometimes, he got a bit pushy with her. Apart from the fact that she was supposed to respond to his messages at once, he always forced Helen to meet him anytime he wanted – even if it wasn’t convenient for her. It happened pretty often, and she was starting to get a bit nervous about it. And she also didn’t like the way that sometimes when he gave her a lift home in the evening, he would get a little handsy. But she was so in love with him that she accepted it, even though didn’t feel comfortable about it. But one day her eyes were opened. They were supposed to meet at 6 pm near the mall, but Helen arrived a little early. She saw Joe chatting happily with some other guys. She felt glad that he would have to finally introduce them to her and she would become his official girlfriend. As she walked over to them, Joe still hadn’t noticed her, and then she heard what he was saying. “You know, I got that 15-year-old idiot who is madly in love with me and she’s sure I’m her soulmate! She’s ready to do anything I want! You know what I mean?” – and they were all roaring with laughter. Helen froze. It was as if someone had punched her hard in the stomach. Her first thought was to leave, but then frustration and anger boiled up in her. She walked towards them and, facing Joe, told him he was a pathetic moron. She said: “You think you’re cool for taking advantage of a nice shy girl? At least I’ve been sincere all the time! And now look at how cool you are with a 15-year-old idiot shouting at you in front of everyone!” and with that, she left with her dignity intact. The last thing she saw was Joe’s face full of embarrassment and the amused expressions of his friends. Helen hoped he would remember that moment for a very long time. Helen came home in tears and ran straight to her mom for support. She was a wise woman and told her she’d get over it, but also said she hoped Helen would learn her lesson. And indeed she did, and it proved to be a useful one for all the relationships that would come after. From that moment on, she was more attentive to what her partner really represented, and what her friends and family thought about him.
My Father Left Our Family For Another Woman
SUBSCRIBE ACTUALLY HAPPENED: https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, this is Lisa, and for the last year, she’s been desperately trying to hold her family together until she realized that she wouldn’t succeed. One of Lisa’s earliest childhood memories is of going to a playground together with her parents. Nothing special happened, but for some reason, the joyful smiles of her parents that day stayed with her. It was a moment of pure happiness for all three of them. And this memory makes what happened to them later even worse. To cut a long story short, one day, after seventeen years of marriage, her father brought them together and, with tears in his eyes, told them that he was leaving Lisa’s mother for another woman. Well, how should you react to news like that? You think that everything is fine and your parents love each other and you get on with doing your own stuff, and then...this happens. She asked her father why, but the answer was quite obvious – he’d just fallen in love with another woman. And then he just, well...left. It was just Lisa and her mom crying. Their house seemed so empty and lifeless without him, and they both missed him. She tried to imagine how she would feel if her future husband ever left her like that after two decades of marriage. It’s really hard to imagine what to do next. After some time, her dad contacted her, and they met in a cafe. She thought that he wanted to come back. Maybe he had realized his mistakes, she thought, and it all was just a misunderstanding. She was wrong, of course. He just wanted to say that he still loved her and his leaving didn’t change things between them. Lisa begged him to reconsider and return to her mom, to think about it, to remember all the times they had together. He just smiled and said, “it’s not that simple.” Then he said that her mom was a strong woman and she would recover, and that Lisa needed to support her. But what about him, Lisa thought to herself. Wasn’t it his responsibility to support her, even if he was no longer in love with her? He then told her that he wanted Lisa and his girlfriend to meet at some point, because she was a good person and she would like her. He took her hand into his, and she just nodded silently. Maybe he was right. She didn’t want to lose her dad. She still loved him. It was hard to go home that day. Lisa’s mom was a shadow of her former self, not even bothering to brush her hair in the morning. It was hard seeing a person who you’ve looked up to your whole life like that. She felt like she hated her for being so weak. At one point, Lisa just snapped and told her mom that it was her fault that her dad had left. Her mom burst into tears and cried even more than before, and she felt horrible for saying it. She apologized at least ten times over the next half an hour. Her mom then started to reveal everything about their relationship, how it had became worse every year, and how she knew that this would probably happen eventually. She told her that she hated her dad and didn’t want to forgive him, but Lisa just couldn’t make herself agree with her, because she couldn’t hate her own father. Over the next few months, she tried to meet with her dad often, but each time the gap between their encounters grew a little bit longer. First one week, then two, then three. At one point, he called her by the name of his girlfriend’s daughter and didn’t even notice. At that moment Lisa realized what a big mistake she had been making the whole time. Instead of supporting her mom, she had been desperately trying to win back her father’s affection. He asked again if she was ready to meet with his girlfriend. And you know what? She said no. Because she didn’t want to meet her. Ever. And while she wanted to have a good relationship with her dad, it wasn’t him who was suffering most through this whole business – because at least he had a new partner, while there was just her and her mom in their old house. In the following weeks, she spent more time with her mom, trying to support her and take her mind off her dad. They became much closer. She finally found the courage to say to her dad that she didn’t want to meet his new girlfriend EVER. Yes, he was still family, but he wasn’t part of HER family anymore. Lisa is still very conflicted about the whole situation, but she’s glad to say that her mom looks and feels better nowadays. Last week she said that Lisa ought to stop thinking about it so much because she has to live HER OWN life. She had to study, have fun with her friends, maybe meet a guy, and not babysit her parents, because they were adults and they will manage. Lisa now thinks she was right. She hopes her mom will get better, and that she will manage to have a good relationship with her dad, but she also has to live her life and solve her own problems, while still supporting her mom, of course.
